Junior Information 2023/24 Season 5 of 8

5. Key information for parents

It's central to our ethos that that parents take an active interest and support their child as they develop as a young player and we hope gain a life long interest in the sport.

We run the Junior section through a dedicated group of volunteers made of of parents, current and former players. Without the time they put in we would not be able to run our coaching programme or 18 teams or provide hockey at an affordable costs to you.

You can help our volunteer team who deliver our hockey programme of simple ways:

  • Sign up the pitchero as this is where all information for training/ games/ club news/ kit shop opening times etc go. Download the app for pitchero on the go
  • Ensure all child and parent details are correct on Pitchero and set your email settings to receive emails and weekly roundups
  • replying to invitations to play in matches or tournaments promptly. Most invites are sent out via an on line team management system called Pitchero. By not replying you prevent another player being invited to play
  • arriving at coaching sessions, matches, tournaments and events in good time so that you do not keep others waiting or delay teams traveling to away games
  • assist with transport to matches and tournaments. We work on the basis that it parents responsibility to ensure players can get to games (home and away) and / or organise lift sharing with other parents
  • ensure your childs kit including hockey stick is named and that they bring appropriate kit and clothing to coaching and games including a water bottle
  • pay your match fee on time via pitchero !
  • [
  • ensuring you keep us informed of any changes to contact details or medical or special circumstances on pitchero
  • support your child as much as possible by attending matches and social events

  • The promotion of FUN, POSITIVE ATTITUDES and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP should be the main dynamic of youth hockey
  • Parents/players should take time to read the England Hockey RESPECT : Code of Ethics and Behaviour
  • Parents as welcome to use the Timperley Sports Club clubhouse and bar. There is free wifi and the opportunity to meet other parents whilst you wait for your child or after matches / tournaments. Parents are also encouraged to join the Club as Social Members.

If you'd like to get involved in any way how ever limited your time is please talk to one of the team, its very rewarding and enjoyable !
