There's something on offer for everyone this summer at Timperley whether you want to play, watch, umpire, be a tournament table organiser or just come down and watch some hockey and catch up with hockey mates !

Summer League

Our ever popular Summer Leagues got underway last week with a record breaking number of teams taking part ! We've 18 teams in the women's league and 12 in the men's league - its great to be offering weekly social, fun but with a competitive edge hockey to nearly 300 players a week right through until mid July.

Women's Summer League is Tuesdays 7pm - 10pm
Men's Summer League is Wednesday 7pm - 10pm (potentially with a few earlier starts)

Umpires - assessed or those looking to gain experience are very welcome to come down and do a few games. Each week we need help with the tournament table, timing, results and ideally getting some social media on the go !

Thanks again to our Summer League supremo Jackie Lord and her right hand organisers Cath Thompson (Ladies) and Will Tobin (men's) and everyone who has volunteered to run a team, help on the night and umpire.

We're just getting up and running on the comms so will be getting more news out on the results, scores on the doors and up and coming fixtures. Both Leagues have a facebook page.

Summer League is our biggest single fund-raiser for the section so please remember your match fees weekly to make sure the Timperley Teams are all paid up each week !

Ladies Vet's 7's - Saturday 9th June 2018

Its back - our fancy dress themed annual 7's tournament so ably run by Jo Nicholson - we've a record entry this year with 14 teams - including two Timperley teams. In the past we've had a range of creative outfits and team props including last year's Mr Benn creations, to Cool Runnings and Timperley Does Punk.

Any Umpires fancy coming down please let Jo Nicholson know or pop down as one of the player umpire will always welcome a break ! If you're over 35 and would like to play get in touch via the Vet's What's App Group or contact Ruth Maddocks or Penny Croquette.

Mixed 7's Tournament - Sunday 1st July 2018

The Mixed 7's is back - following its re-introduction last year and Sarah Chancellor has volunteered to run the day again. Invitations will go out this weekend so if you know of any club's or groups of player who would like to form a team and enter please contact Sarah, Shelagh or email timperleyhc@gmail.com If you'd like to organise a Timperley team please also get in touch so we can co-ordinate players etc

Friendlies

Whilst the serious end of pre-season planning and build up is fully underway for the Performance Squads (M1 and L1) including tournament and matches, we will also be looking to set up a number of Friday evening friendlies over the summer for the rest of the club and a mixture of mixed, men's and possibly ladies. Once we get all the league dates and fixtures we'll be back filling the weekend to gaps.

England Hockey Competitions

The Ladies Over 30's have entered the new EH Summer Championships, and we had entered a mens and ladies team in the Summer 6's but EH has advised that this will not now be going ahead as planned on 17th June (at THC).

Pre-season

The performance squads will be kicking off strength and conditioning and fitness in June and start back on the pitches on Saturdays from 30th June and on a Tuesday from mid July once Summer League is complete.

Club training for everyone else will start on a Tuesday evening in Mid July.

We're finalising a general club fitness session too that will be open to all

Academy

Registration Day and the re-start of Sunday sessions will be on Sunday 2nd September.
