Huge thanks to everyone across the Club who donated yesterday via the Grow a Tenner scheme - see how we did and simple ways to help !

Huge thanks to all club members, former members and friends of Timperley Sports Club who got on line on Tuesday 11th December an pledged to donate £10 a month to the Club for the next 12 months to raise money for a new tractor via the 2018 Grow a Tenner scheme from localgiving.org

In less than 12 hours 36 people got on line and set up their £10 a month donation and accessed match funding against their donations from the £100,000 available nationally. By 10pm the scheme had closed and all match funds allocated - so thanks to the quick action of Timperley Folks the club has raised

- 36 x £120 donations = £4320
- 36 x £60 match funder Grow a Tenner = £2,160
- plus gift aid on donations (variable amounts)

Raising a total of over £7,000 once all monies donated over the next 12 months hitting our target to buy a new tractor for use on the astro's and grass pitches and keep the paying surfaces for all our sports in tip top condition..

Particular thanks to all the current and former hockey members who signed up and helped raise this terrific sum of money. Look our for the replacement tractor and take a pat on the back for your role in making this happen.

Miss out on Grow a Tenner - two easy ways to contribute to Club Development

Giant Tombola Donations: Drop off a bottle, box of chocs, pamper goodies or anything else suitable to help us put on a Giant Tombola at the Club this Saturday (15th December). Drop off by lunchtime Saturday (earlier ideally) and come down on Saturday to have a few festive drinks and buy some Tombola tickets. This is the simplest way to donate to the club fund-raising

Join the 200 Club: This is a monthly draw for cash prizes and there are two ways to take part. Sign up to pay monthly (by Standing Order) for £4 per number or buy a number on the night of the monthly draw (if available). Come down this Saturday and buy a number for £4 and if you're in the clubhouse at the time of the draw (6.30pm) you can be in with a chance to win the Xmas Special Snowball prize of £250.

See Nick Burnett to sign up as a member of the 200 Club and choose your number to go in the monthly draw or ask for a 200 Club Form from behind the bar and return to Nick.

Why is fund-raising so important and why we need to gear up to doing more !

TSC is a Community Amateur Sports Club - run by members for members and the community. We don't have any big benefactors and raise money to run and reinvest in the club through the efforts of current and former members. The next big phase of club development is edging closer as we continue to explore options abut how to best develop the site and what are member and community future needs are (Project 18). A big part of the next phase of our development of the club over the next couple of years will also be the replacement of both astro's and floodlighting as well as the clubhouse and ground. Hockey will benefit massively from this as we have from the original investments in the astro turf pitches from the 1980's, the second pitch in 1991 and resurfacing in 2006.

To do all this we need to build our reserves and the cash the TSC can generate through how we run the club (hires, events, bar etc) and fund-raising - and use this to help bring in grant funding too. More club generated funds will be needed over the next few years so we will be looking at more ways to get more players and parents involved in ways to raise funds and try and make this as easy as possible. So when you donate or support the club think of the costs we need to raise funds to cover - a single floodlight lamp (bulb to non electricians) costs £260 and we have 20 per pitch, upgrading the floodlights on one pitch will costs c £30,000 - 40,000, pitch replacements are into six figures as are work develop and extend the clubhouse ! So every penny and pound counts and all goes to giving benefit to players and member !

Thanks to everyone who donates cash, in kind goods and services and their time we have a fantastic club - so lets keep growing and striving to make it even better.

Come down on Saturday 15th December and joining the #hockeyfamily and #oneclubfoursports family to meet up with the people that make the club what it is and if you're lucky go home with £250 and some cracking Tombola Prizes !
