Happy Hockey New Year from Timperley Hockey Club

Best wishes for 2018 to all players, coaches, umpires, captains, volunteers, parents, supporters and everyone at Timperley #OneClubFourSports - here's to a good 2018 !

2017 was (we think!) the most successful year in the Club's long history and the Round Up is just a snapshot of some of the things that happened. So much has happened its difficult to do the year justice in a few pages so please don't take offence if we've missed your highlight of 2017 out !

On the playing side we had much to be proud of including:

• 3 national finals
• 3 regional north finals
• 1 promotion

-National finalists - under 18 boys indoor a first for the club
-EH National finals, and runners up in hockey masters trophy at Lee valley hockey centre for the Over 50 men and Over 35 women
- Promotion for the Men's 4th team
- Ladies 1's retained their place in the Investec Women's Hockey League

Plus our most successful year for academy with:

- under 10 boys and girls and under 12 girls all winners or runners in in Cheshire mini's and reaching North finals and runners up in two out of three age groups
- Winning the Greater Manchester Junior Hockey League with the Under 15 Girls and Under 11 Boys

We also had lots a wide range of representative honours showing that hockey really is a game for all ages and life !

- England Over 50's Women and European championships gold medalist - Sarah Impey
- England Over 55 squad - Shelagh Entwisle
- England Under 16 squad - Ben Entwisle
- Wales Over 70's / 75's - John Donnelly
- Pennine Pumas Under 18 - Ben Jones
- and lots of other Timperley players representing North Masters, Cheshire, Lancashire and through the England Hockey Single system at Performance Centre, JAC and JDC and Tensworth.

We've grown in members too and we've more people playing hockey than ever before - so if you're one of the people who helps make all this happen thank you for everything you've done to make 2017 such a successful year on and off the pitch. Thanks to the team at Timperley Sports Club too and our fellow sections Cricket, Lacrosse and Football for your support and collaboration.

Not bad for a Northern hockey club located in a place most people outside Greater Manchester and Cheshire have never heard of !
