England Hockey's online survey is open until 26th November - individuals can have a say so don't miss your opportunity!

Why do I care about the governance of hockey ?

The game's growing (in participation levels) and constantly changing - but so are people's lives and how they engage with hockey. Much has evolved since the 2pm bully off on grass pitches !

At the England Hockey AGM in March 2017, a resolution to review the structures within the sport was put to the AGM and passed via a 98% majority. The AGM resolution read as follows:

“This resolution proposes that England Hockey review the sport's current governance structure across the country so that it provides the best opportunity to develop the sport; increasing participation levels and the chances of sustained success at national and international level while safeguarding participants and giving members the best possible experience in the 21st century”.

The on-line survey is part of the consultation. To give you a feel for Timperley we are affiliated to a number of hockey bodies as well as England Hockey and its our local and regional bodies that oversea the leagues and county set up. So whether you play in the 1st team - or 5th or 6th teams hockey governance impacts your weekend !

So be it - Chester Hockey Association, the North West Hockey Association, the North Hockey Association - or Cheshire Women's Hockey League, North West Hockey League, North Hockey League or the National League via EH we're all impacted ! Plus we have the North West Hockey Umpires Association for our whistlers !

There are different surveys depending on how you're involved.

We will be completing a Timperley HC response n behalf of the club but there's the opportunities for individuals to have their say too using the Club's Survey - so don't save it for the bar or changing room to have a moan or say whats good - get it in the survey !

The Clubs Survey is for:
• Club Committee Members
• Club Playing Members
• Club Non-Playing Members
• Club Umpires
• Anyone else with an interest in hockey governance

Don't miss your chance - you need to complete the survey by 26th November 2017
