Congratulations to Oliver Evans selected for England U16 Boys and Alex Mulligan selected for School Games

The England Hockey Player Pathways reaches a key stage each summer with the selection of players from Performance Centre's for regional teams to play in Futures Cup, and hockey sides to competing in the UK's major multi-sports event - School Games.

At the end of the cycle England Hockey announce the training squads for the National Age Group Squads (NAGs) for Under 16 an 18 boys and girls. This is the culmination of the pathway that starts at Development Centre (formerley JDC) that many of our young players are invovled with, through to Academy Centre (formerly JAC) to performance Centre (formerly JRPC)

This season three Timperley #homegrown players compete at the final stage of the EH cycle, and were a credit to themselves and in the club:

- Futures Cup: Pennine Puma's Under 15 (Oliver Evans)
- Futures Cup: Pennine Puma's Under 17 (Ben Entwisle)
- School Games: U18 (Alex Mulligan)

Oliver and Ben were joined at Futures Cup by new GK recruit to Timperley, Henry Davies, playing for Wales U18. Mark Talbot our coach was also at Futures coaching Wales Under 15 Girls - so combined with parents and families Timperley were well on the map over the for day event.

Huge congratulations to Oliver selected to join the England Under 16 boys NAG's training squad - our third Timperley Player to reach this level in four years. Oli, who some may not recognise without his GK helmet and kits will spend the autumn attending England training camps and sessions and the opportunity to compete for a place in the playing squads for competitions in 2019. This is a fantastic achievement for Oliver and credit to his hard work and willingness to study the game, other keepers and keep learning. Oliver will be playing Men's hockey this season so watch out for him and we wish him every success at NAG's.

Alex Mulligan, as well as being part of the Manchester Performance Centre, was selected to take part in the EH AASE (Advanced Award in Sporting Excellence) programme 2017/18. Congratulations to Alex who passed AASE with flying colours and through the AASE programme was selected for one of the EH team competing at School Games, following in the footsteps of Ben Jones who completed the programme in 2017.

Many of our Academy Players are part of the England Hockey Player Pathway and the 2018-19 cycle will start in September with the Development Centres for boys and girls.

We're proud to offer hockey for all young players from aged 5. Whether you're just starting out in the cubs, coming to coaching on a Sunday, playing in club games or the Player Pathway.
