Come down and support the Ladies 1's v West Herts - its down to the wire so lets get some tremendous Timperley support along!

Whilst most players finished training a month ago our Ladies 1's have been training hard with Albert, Mike and Danny to put in the hard work to prepare for the IWHL Relegation Play Off's and keep National League Hockey at Stockport Road next season.

We need the biggest crowd of the season down on Saturday 22nd April - 2pm push back to support the Ladies 1's - bring friends, family, kids, and show your support in blue to help make our home advantage make the difference ! Its a great opportunity for parents to bring Academy members down to see at senior game too.

Here's how the Play Off's are poised ! The girls made the long trip to Exeter last weekend and took on Exe HC who had beaten West Herts in the first Play Off game 5-2. With only one team out of the three in the Play's Off's retaining a IWHL Conference place next season the game couldn't have been more finely posed.

As well as the players, coaches and team manager making the 460 mile round trip to Exeter, we also had some great 'blue' support on the day and thanks to everyone who travelled to support the girls. In a thrilling game full of tension and in 22 degrees the visitors gave it their all absorbing a rally of Penalty Corners in the first ten minutes frustrating the home side. Breaking out of defense with a confident and bold move Timperley took the lead with an excellent finish from Leonnie Molloy to lead 0-1 half way through the first half. Full of confidence the team played positive hockey and continued to make chances. Exeter took advantage of a quick break with a good finish to level the scores just before half time.

The second half was just as thrilling with chances from both teams and despite every last ounce of energy being put into the game neither side could clinch the winner - final score 1 -1. A disappointed Exe squad knew it was now game on Timperley and in our hands in the final match verses West Herts on 22nd April.

So here's what we need to do to snatch the IWHL Conference place for next season from Exe Ladies 1's.

Beat West Herts by with a goal difference of four or more goals
Or
Beat West Herts by a goal difference of three (the same as Exe HC) and score six goals (as if tied on goal difference it then goes to goals scored)

So its game on ! Do try and come and support if you can and make this happen !

Thanks also to former Ladies Chair and Timperley Sports Club President, Ruth Evans, our Match Day sponsor and Chief Steward for the day.

Its also the April 200 club draw on Saturday at 6.30pm so even more reasons to stay down for a drink or two after the game !

If you're away of cant make the game follow on Twitter or Facebook (if we can sort out the live stream!)
