Miss the Hockey AGM and Academy Presentations at the weekend - take a look at our #OneClub Review of the 2016 -17 season

Sunday 14th May 2017 was our first combined #OneClub end of season celebrations - We can't thank everyone enough who turned out from our very youngest cubs to our oldest playing member (John Donnelly - Wales over 70's) and made it a special day showing off the #timperleyhockeyfamily at its best !

We had the annual Parents v Kids matches in the morning followed by a splendid (and emotional) review of the most amazing season for our academy as players, families and coaches enjoyed a presentations day hosted by Academy Chair - Jo Nicholson. Jo is standing down as chair ready for a well earned rest (but she'll still be coaching on Sunday's) so the seasons achievements on and off the field was a fitting way to mark Jo's period as Academy Chair.

Download out Review of the Year - Bluenotes special newsletter that captures a flavour of the summary of the 2016-17 season for all our teams from Under 10's to Over 50's ! Leonnie Molloy also created another great 'tearjerker' of a video capturing season in photo's that really brings to life the vitality of the club from our youngest to oldest members. Take a look and we hope it brings to life what #OneClub is all about. Details of the roll of honour and all the winners of awards will be shared later in the week in the Review of the Season - part 2 !

In the afternoon we had another great afternoon's hockey in our second AGM Mixed club 7's tournament - this year we had seven teams - each skillfully crafted and selected by Alex Morley to bring together players from different teams, ages and genders. It was great to get some of the young players who will be transitioning to the senior sides next season playing as well.

The Mixed 7's was followed by a fine tea by Kerri and our second AGM as #OneClub. We'll be sharing a summary update as part of the Review of the Season - part 2 later in the week, including outstanding awards, summary of the reports, and election of the new committee and a taster from the other recent AGM's including the Timperley Sports Club AGM, Cheshire Hockey and Cheshire Women's Hockey AGM's with some snippets of whats happening at TSC and in the wider hockey world.

As well as giving Jo Nicholson a send off at the AGM and thanking her for her amazing worked developing and running the ever growing academy, we also thanks Alex Morley for all his work in the formative period of developing the Men's Club Captain role since out merger in October 2015 as he stepped down from his role. Kieran Jeffrey was elected as the new Men's Club Captain.

We've had another really great season so do take a few minutes to take a look at at the Bluenotes special and video - hope it makes you #ProudToBeBlue and for all the up's and down's of the season remember what a great sport hockey is for embracing all ages, genders and abilities - win or loose !

So look out for Part 2 later in the week when the rest of the AGM and end of season news has been summarised.

None of this would have happened without our amazing volunteers and we'll be celebrating their contribution to hockey at Timperley with a special thank you night on Friday 7th July. Invitations will be issued in the next week or so. It's also not possible with the players, family's, supporters, coaches and TSC team - so a big thank you from everyone at THC to you all.

It never stops mind at THC as we kick off:

- Mens (Tuesday) and Women's (Wednesday) Summer Leagues this week (16 and 17 May)

- Back to Hockey Returns next week on Tuesday 23rd May for six weeks with Albert 8pm - 9pm on the car park end of the green pitch

- Fitness with Rick Poole will return in June (probably on a Monday or Thursday - we;re just sorting a pitch slot)

- final plans from pre-season and the main season training are being finalised and should be released in the 10 -12 days including Saturday's for pre-season from July.
