Congratulations to the Ladies 1s squad & coaches on their epic 7-3 Play Off win v West Herts & thanks to 180 amazing #OneClub supporters

The sun was out, the call out for the 12th player was responded to by an amazing 180 #OneClub supporters from across the club, the extra training hours and striking practice complete - it was down to 70 minutes on the turf and what 70 minutes !

The task was clear for the Ladies 1's in the final IWHL Play Off match v West Herts on 22nd April. A win, a +4 goal difference of if a +3 goal difference we needed to score six goals - and we did it in style with a tennis score of a game rounded off with by a superb goal by Leonnie Molloy to win 7 - 3.

See all the goals here and get a sense for the day and fantastic support on the side lines with a record for the season with 180 supporters on the clickers ! Huge thanks to everyone who supported the girls on the day at the game or on-line it made a huge difference to the squad to see just how much this game and our place in the National League means to the Timperley #hockeyfamily

All credit to West Herts who travelled already knowing that they would be relegated and playing in East Premier Division next season and put up an amazing fight and gave the blue army of fans a slight heart flutter of two in the final throws of the game pulling the score back to 6-3. This would have done the job for the blues but the day was crowned by the 7th goal rattled in by Leonnie whose celebration showed the relief and what it meant on a personal, squad and club level (no apologies needed Leonnie!). It was heartbreak in Devon as Exe Hockey Club could only follow the scoreline on online as their hopes retaining IWHL must by half time as the girls rattled in the goals.

Congratulations to everyone who has played a part in our IWHL inaugural season - its been a real #OneClub response from the 'Big Clean' getting the club ready, new goals, painting the changing rooms, stewarding, selling advertising to raise extra income, the bar staff for helping making our guest so welcome, the ground staff, all our supporters including those making away trips, Ian our Manager, the coaches (Mike, Danny and Albert), Sophie and Jay who captained during the season and to all the players who made it happen on the pitch and deliver the result. We thank everyone involved how every small or large you did your bit and it made the difference and we have accomplished our goal of retaining IWHL status for a second season.

Season One was always about learning about the Conference, and we move into the 2017-18 having gained much knowledge, experience and confidence. We are currently in the process of recruiting for a new Performance Coach for the Ladies 1's and we would like to pay special thanks to Mike Power who has been our Ladies 1's coach for the last four season made a major contribution to the development of the squad to win the Cheshire Cup and the North Premier Division in 2015-16 and gain promotion to the National League a year ago and work tirelessly this season on and off the pitch to steer us through our first season at this level. Mike has left us in a significantly better place than when he joined us. We wish Mike well for the future and thank him for his contribution to the Club.

So preparation starts now for the new season - and we're looking forward to the challenge and a seaside trip to newcomers Flyde !
