Find out where your subs go, and ways to spread the cost over 2/3 payments if you sign up by 28th August for all members aged 16+

Timperley Sports Club (TSC) membership fees are now due - Timperley Hockey Club is a section of TSC and annual subscriptions are collected from all sections and social members to support the running and the development of the overall club and facilities that we have access too. Make use you read on to find our what payment options are available !

Subs are due by 1st October 2018 - please don't thin subs link to League Hockey or Matches - players have had the opportunity to play hockey, train and use the clubhouse for most of the spring / summer. If you'd like to spread the cost of the payment - there are on line payment options for single, two or three payments IF YOU SET UP THE PAYMENT BY THE 28th AUGUST. - OR make your first payment over the bar, by cash or debit/credit card. (Subs can not to be paid for using your bar card)

We know everyone likes a moan about paying any annual fees to any organisation but just have a think about how many other clubs offer our two on site astro's, large clubhouse and hockey pretty much 12 months ! We also know TSC subs are very good value and cheaper than the vast majority of other clubs. TSC fund all the facilities you can see in our 'drone' view of the club , from pitches, to heating, water, cleaning, bar and other staff, repairs, maintenance and every thing else needed to run the club for us to use 365 days a year.

In the next couple of weeks they'll be more work taking place at the club funded by TSC from repairing the drive / potholes to tree surgeon's pruning the trees surrounding the astro's. Subs go towards the running of the club and mean the hockey section is not hiring pitches off site to play on at £100+ a game or £80 an hour for training.

The Hockey Section fund the playing of hockey coaching, affiliation, insurance, equipment, match days and everything else through raising income through the section mainly from match fees, fund-raising, sponsorship and fees. So in a nutshell that's how the split works between TSC Membership Fees (Subs) and other hockey income.

Academy Subs and training fees 2018-19

Academy Registration Day will be held on Sunday 2nd September and all players in year 11 and below (even if playing senior hockey) need to come along and re-register for the year. Parents or Guardians need to come along too, and check player details and sign the relevant consent forms for the season, update any information and Gift Aid forms where relevant. If you miss the Registration Day - academy registration forms and payments can be completed on any Sunday in September and on Tuesday at Under 16 training.

Club Cards

One of the benefits of being a senior (aged 18+) member of TSC is that once your subs are paid you can apply for a 'TSC ClubCard' that you can use for all bar purchases. The big benefit if that for every £1 you 'load' on your card the club increase the value by 10%. For example - put £30 on your card and you get £33 to spend over the bar. You can top up and load money onto your card via the bar using a card or cash. So get your subs paid early, get your personalised card and start benefiting. The savings you make over the year in effective give you savings against the cost of your subs.

Part of Project 18 - the next phase of TSC development - includes work to look at our legal structure, rules and subscriptions and payments. We are now working towards becoming a Community Benefit Society from 1st January 2018 as agreed in principle at the TSC AGM in April. The will be an EGM about the changes later in 2018 and we are also looking at how subs collection will work in the future.

Membership is more than subs !

Having accurate member data is key to the smooth running of the hockey section and club. From registering players with leagues to team selection and communications it all relies on up to date data - and everyone can help reduce the time chasing around by getting their Pitchero Profile up to date- add a photo - and check any medical conditions and emergency contact details are updated for all players of all ages.

Better data and systems will also mean we can make some strides forward to reduce the overall admin time spend on getting teams out on the pitch from availability, selection and communications. This year we will be fully rolling out the use of Pitchero to help player and our volunteers spend hours chasing people each week - so with one process in place - with web and app based access this can make life easier - especially for those who give up their time to make all the logistics of hockey happen at the Club !

So a little flexibility and co-operation from everyone to help introduce some new ways of doing things will have a big impact on time spent overall. Over an average week end in the season we need to get around 200 - 225 players organised and 12 - 15 umpires across the section from our under 10's to our Vets and everything in between !

Please do you bit by helping the smooth running of the hockey section and Club by paying your subs on time, getting your data up to date by registering on Pitchero, or updating your profile.

Thanks in advance from the hockey committee for you help in getting subs paid and sorted on time !

* TSC, having CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) status, classes a Junior subscription (under 18) where possible, as a voluntary donation for basic membership only. A separate additional charge is made by the Hockey Section for players up to School year 11 in respect of the provision of coaching and playing facilities to each Junior member. In this way the Club is able to treat these donations in the normal way for Gift Aid purposes and reclaim tax from HMRC.
