Since we merged section's Kieran Jeffery has been our Umpiring Co-ordinator and done a great job each week working with all the umpires and captains to make sure games can happen. Kieran is now club captains and has his hands full now with new challenges so we need a replacement asap !

Through the work Nick Burnett has done on developing new umpires we now have a really good sized group of umpires to call on - and some of the new members joining the club this summer are also Level 1 umpires to add to the 'pool'. So with more umpires we hope to call on the player umpires in particular a little less this season as we can share the load.

We need someone whose a real 'completer finisher' and has an eye for detail who can:

- review the up coming fixtures, requirements and locations
- match the 'pool' of assessed level 1 umpires to games
- work with Nick to allocate un-assessed umpires to games at the right level so they can be developed
- liaise with umpires and captains to match the whole thing up
- make sure we have umpires at all games

So its great is you love a list and spreadsheet - and if your love a few chess moves of getting umpires / player in the right place and making the whole thing tick !

We've got a tried and tested system and there's lots of support too - its also a role if you want to develop you can look at new ways to do things !

The one thing you don't need to do this role is be an umpire or player ! Its also a great way to get to know more people at the club and great if you want to get involved off the pitch in the hockey at the club. Its just as suitable for a player or umpire too !

The role covers men's, women's, badgers, beavers and EH cup games for all teams except the Men's 1 and Women's 1's.
