Frenetic week of activity on and off the pitch for the Ladies, Men, Academy and TSC - #OneClub in action !

When you're down at the club this weekend you should see a few more changes to the look and feel of the place and how we're getting organised as a hockey club!

The Ladies 1's debut home game in the IWHL has given us a 'time bound' real focus as we wanted to get as much as possible in place ready for Saturday's big match day to show the Club off at its best. However, this isn't the only reason we've done stuff. We're working though a whole load of ideas from our pre-season planning workshop that focused on two themes to benefit everyone involved with Timperley:

Lots of things have fallen into place this week and even more 'jobs' are getting ticked off our 'to do' list ! We've also had two cup wins for M1 (Cheshire) and L1 (EH), a first IWHL point, Ladies league fixtures, academy games but sadly not as many Men's friendlies as planned even though we had managed to put out five Men's sides.

So this week, thanks to the efforts of lots of hockey people (and partners), and with the support TSC team, we've cracked on in lots of areas - here's a flavour of some of the wide range of things that have been going on this week !

#GreatHockeyClub

- On Sunday the Academy ran their Olympic Challenge Part 2, had Monday night U16 training and kicked off the new Goalie Academy on a Tuesday - thanks to Woody and all the academy team for pressing on getting so much happening so early in the season

- We ran our first taster session for Strength, Conditioning and Post Match Recovery on Monday night - Thanks to Smalley for getting this up and running - come along on Monday 26th Sept to give it a go (26th Sept is another free taster session)

- the Men pressed on with their new availability process and published 'team selection' on the website (accessible to signed up folks only) for the first time - following the new approach the ladies have rolled out - and fingers crossed will be putting out the 6th Team this weekend

- Oktoberfest finalised, Steins ordered and ticket price confirmed (£7)- thanks to Stu Heywood

- Subs payments slowly coming in - thanks to everyone whose paid already - deadline is looming so please make sure you try and pay this weekend

- Rob Judd has volunteered to take on the role of Hockey Club Secretary - thanks Juddy as this will really make a big difference

- First Match Day Sponsorship of the Season and new process set up for all teams - contact us if interested on £50

- EH Cup entries all processed and bill paid (£755)

- Nick Burnett, TSC President, hosts one of the regular 'old boys' lunch on Friday for many of our former players showing how hockey friendships really do last a lifetime as former players come together - thanks to Nick for making this happen

- It's been a bit like DIY SOS this week with Club Foyer doors painted and repaired, new click frames put up posters, getting the blue pitch side ready and lots of more - thanks to Rob Pates

- Blitz on Changing Room 1 and 2 and other areas around the club - thanks to Mitch for steam cleaning the shower and Andy the Groundsman for sorting the painting where needed, and Billy

- Light returns to changing room corridor and some showers ! - thanks to Dave Halkyard

- old goals refurbished - thanks to Colin for getting sorted

- More advertising / sponsorship sold - thanks to Jackie Lord and Jay Mortimer

- New pitchside advertising banners printed and put up - thanks to Tim Small

- IWHL Match Day plans and all the thousand and one jobs needed finalised - massive thanks to Cuey for steering this through

- IWHL Match Day Programme sorted - thanks to Becky Schofield

- Pitchside cones, piping and corners flags sorted - but sadly the conversion of the old goals to dugouts wasn't feasible so we are sourcing some portable dugouts

- Men got sorted with league registrations ready for this weekends first league matches - thanks to captains and especially Dave Halkyard who had the pleasure of taking photo's of M1 squad players to upload for league registration (or was he just avoiding training!)

- Umpires sorted by mid week and fingers crossed a blackboard to chalk up results on will be her for Saturday - thanks to Kieran

This is just a flavour of some of the things that have been going on around the club this week - and as well as all of this we've also had really attended attended training sessions for Men, Women and Academy this week and are fielding 11 senior sides on Saturday plus Badgers and Beavers.

There is loads more we want to do - and we hope that now members can start to see the difference that can be made that more people will step up to do a little - as combined it really can make a big difference.

Just paying your subs on time makes a huge difference as it means people that already give up alot of time to make hockey happen at Timperley don't need to spend more time chasing you to pay ! If you've a genuine problem let us know to see if we can help.

Tickets will be on sale this weekend for our own take on OktoberFest on 15th October, so please try and come along and make it a success as having great well attended social events is also one of our aims for the season !

Good luck to all teams this weekend with everyone in league action (except the Ladies 21 and Men's 6s) and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible at our first ever home game in the Investec Women's Hockey League
