On Thursday its the final Strength and Conditioning session with Robbie 7.00pm - 8.00pm, and from 2nd August Rick Poole will be taking over the sessions which will be open to all for fitness (£3 charge applies).

Wednesday night is Men's Summer League Finals night from 7pm - thanks to Will Tobin for organising this year's competition. One of the highlights has been seeing the Badgers team taking part with support from Stanny and great team management as ever from Ruth Brown, and support from all the parents. The lads have come on really well over the last 9 weeks and its great to see other club's using summer league as a development opportunity for their young players too.

Wednesday night is also the chance to come down to the club and watch England v USA in the Women's World Cup Group Pool B match - 8pm push back. If you're looking for tickets we've a couple for Friday 27th July and Mark Andrews has some spares (see facebook) See separate news item for full update on the world cup.

We wish the Ladies Over 30's all the best for their EH Summer Championships Final being played at 12 noon on Saturday 28th July 2018 at Old Loughtonians Hockey Club, Chigwell. This isn't far from Lee Valley so if anyone if down in London and free in the day do try and pop along to support the blues in the final as we aim to bring the first piece of silverware home of the 2018-19 season !

Co-op Local Causes - help support THC when you shop Earlier in July we received out second payment from the Co-op Community Fund giving a total contribution to our #GrowOurOwnVolunteer programme of £848. There's still time to sign up - follow link to find out how as long as you shop within 15 miles of Timperley. When you're in the Timperley Co-op have a look at the TV screen behind the tills and see how much has been raised for THC - last week the total raised was £925 - so lets get to the £1,000+ mark with your help, and ask family and friends to choose THC as their local cause. This money is going to help train, develop and support our volunteers. Without volunteers they'd be NO hockey so simply sign up and you could make a difference to what we do.

Thanks to Caroline Small for leading on Hockey's input to the Golden Games run by Sporting Memories Foundation at TSC on Sunday 22nd July. Two walking hockey sessions were run and it was great to see members of the community give hockey a go who had never picked up a stick before, along with former members, and John Wood our Club Patron who led the way for the over 80's and showed us all that he still had an eye for a ball, tackle and the goal - as competitive as ever ! John should be an inspiration to us all and he also brought a fine example of a 1980's Grey's Karachi King stick that will be remembered by many as the stick to have back in the day!

Finally, Kwasi's funeral was held on Thursday 19th July in Trinidad and THC were we so pleased that Albert's Mum was able to attend and represent the club and was sporting a Blue and Black outfit. So, a little bit of Timperley was there on the day, along with the thoughts of so many at the club and from across with wider hockey community. We've been overwhelmed by the number of messages of support from local clubs and individuals and we thank everyone who has take the time to think of Kwasi and his family at this time. Trinidad and Tobago won their first games at the CAC Games in Columbia beating Cuba 2-1 and with Teague, Albert's son, bagging one of the goals and dedicating the win to Kwasi in the post match interview.
