Lots happening on and off the pitch this week - take a look at what's occurring, how to grab a bargain, #drinkpink, EH round up and save the dates !

A busy old week with hockey and Timeprley Sport Club activity this week ! Do take a look at the TSC EGM pack that's been sent to members (18+) and f you've not received a email let Shelagh know so we can send you information about the forthcoming EGM. The meeting pack will also help explain more about how the club is run by its members.

Back on the pitch Saturday saw wins for the Men's 1's v Durham Uni to maintain their quest for National League Hockey with a top four finish and with Brooklands losing a 9 point gap has now opened up between 4th and 5th. Th Men's 2' notched up another win to remain top of Division 2. The Ladies 1 put in a really positive second half v Sutton Coldfield finishing with a really strong final 20 minutes in the second ad run out of time to get an equaliser going down 1-2. The Ladies 2's got a good win too and stay in the promotion places. Hard day at the office for some of the other teams with heavy defeats for Ladies 5, Men's6 and Men's 3's but we got again and bounce back this week !

Hotting up in the EH Championships

EH Cup Hockey was at its best last weekend - and lets hope for more of the same this Sunday! The come back kids cut up the turf at South Downs Road as our Under 14 Boys coming back from 2-0 away at Bowdon to turn the game round and win 2-3, closely on their tail were the Men's 1s 0-3 down to National League visitors Leeds HC the lads came back to 3-3 and then lost out on sudden death strokes 6-7! A great game for the spectators and some fine #Blues goals !

The Ladies O35's fought hard in the second half of their game v Didsbury Northern to defend their 1-0 Half Time lead to come out on top and make it to the next round with a draw v Bowdon or Sutton Coldfield. The Girls U14 dominated for large part os their game v Brooklands and drew 2-2 after the visitors converted a late Penalty Corner. The Ladies 2's had taken to the skies from Liverpool early on Sunday morning to head to the Isle of Man but we're unable to get the win and will continue to focus on the league and gaining a place in the new North West Pennine Division if they maintain a top 6 finish.

This weekend the golden oldies hit the turf for a repeat of the 2017 EH Tier 2 final as the Men's Over 50's battle it out against with Formby at 1.30pm in the last 16 of the competition. Come down and support the gents and encourage them over the line ! The fearsome Mixed XI head to Neston and will be hoping to get some hockey played after having the opposition concede in the last two rounds.

Paint Altrincham Pink 24th February - 3rd March 2019

(RACE NIGHT CANCELLED)
Remember the marvelous TSC Pink T- Shirts we sold last year to raise funds for Prevent Breast Cancer ? Well they are back again available for sale from the bar (soon!) as we join in this year's #PaintAltrinchamPink Breast Cancer Awareness and fund-raising campaign. Last year TSC raised £2337 and this year the Club is hosting a Pink Drinks and Race Night on Wednesday 27th February so why not come down to the club for a 7pm start to support this worthy cause that has touched many in the club and members families.

We'll be turning training and match day warm up's pink too from 23rd February to 3rd March too.

The futures bright for TSC !

This week meeting notices went out for an Extraordinary General Meeting of TSC that has been called to complete the implementation of the new legal structure for the club and a new structure of sub committees and we are keen to kind out from any hockey members who'd be interested in getting involved in representing hockey on the TSC Sub Committees, and or on the Hockey Committee. We know people are busy (we all are !) so we're looking at how we structure some of the roles we have to reduce the work load - but this will only work if we can get a few more people doing a few more things - spreading the load !

The EGM on 28th March will share the latest developments on Project 18 - our project to invest further into the club including the replacement of the both astro's in the next could of seasons, replacing and hopefully upgrading the floodlights and pitch side areas. Project 18 is also looking at the whole site, access, parking and the clubhouse. There have been a number of positive external meetings and there will be an update on 28th March - so come along and find out more about the plans for you / our club and why not have a real hard think about how you could help keep hockey growing and thriving and the wheels oiled and rolling on the running of the section.

Playing Members (with paid sub subs) aged 18+and Voting Social members get a vote at the EGM so come along to the meeting or one of the Drop In Sessions in advance if you have any questions or queries on the new legal structure. if you haven't received the papers for the meeting please contact Shelagh Entwisle.
