League hockey may be over for the senior teams but we've still lots of hockey for all generations across the Club!

Congratulations to our Under 10 Boys who had a terrific day at the EH In2Hockey Mini's last weekend at Leeds University and were crowned Runners Up, with City of York crowned champions this season. Well done to all involved and stand in coach Ross Small, Men's 2 Captain and Academy coach who stood in for regular coach Neil Hornby who was double booked with a very special family occasion. Thanks to all the parents and supporters and to Rob Judd who was photographer for the day (see team photo albums to take a look at the day's action!).

The Club has a great track record at North U10's finals and this is our third year on the bounce making the Finals with Runners Up (2017), Winner (2018) and Runners Up (2019) for our Under 10 boys. Alot of hard work goes into developing the individual skills and team tactics to accomplish this success build on many many cold and wet Sunday morning. It was also a great sight in recent weeks to see the Under 10's training in the 7.00pm - 8.00pm Tuesday slot alongside the 1st Team squads warming up. Well done to all involved and all the volunteer hours that make it all happen.

Our Under 16 Boys also had a great day out at the EH Under 16 Boys Tier 2 Area Finals at Stone Hockey Club and went from struggling to field a team at the start of the week to finishing 3rd overall after an exciting 3rd v 4th place final and shoot out. Well done lads great opportunity to pitch yourselves against teams from others regions (including Stone and Beeston) . Special thanks to Manager, Ruth Brown for herding the squad, guest players from Lymm and Dan Caborn for standing in as coach as Akeem had an appointment on the beach in Barbados !

At the other end of the hockey family we hosted our Annual Men's Vets Tournament with 11 teams taking part and a big thanks to Col Taylor and his on the day organisational team and THC umpires for making the day a success and another major fund-raiser for the hockey section.

Four Timperley players were playing at Durham University last weekend for North Masters teams v Scotland - congratulations to Lou, Lenni, Imps and Shelagh. Congratulations to Lenni has also been selected for Wales O45 Masters, Kiery England Over 35s and Imps and Lou for England Over 50's. All will be heading to the Nations Tournament and European Masters championships over the summer. Congratulations too to Colin for being selected for the North Over 55's Masters for the Masters Regional Finals.

Taster of some of the season's stats !

As we prepare for the Hockey AGM and Annual Awards it time to bring together the seasons stats and here's a few tasters to highlight some of the on the pitch achievements of the season:

Men's 2's - not only crowed NWHL Division 2 Champions, sealing back to back promotions, but the squad were undefeated in the league but they scored an amzing 108 Goals (and a goal difference of +77)

Of the 170 teams in the NWHL they finished 2nd on average points per game with 2.64 points - losing out to Birkenhead 1's from Division 6 South with 2.65 points per game)

The academy teams have also have a great time at the GMJHL on Sundays at the Armitage Centre - this has been the starting point for many of our young players over the last 15 years + with the 7 a side over the season providing lots of hockey and development opportunities for all.Again not possible without coach, umpire and parental support so thanks to everyone involved on another very successful season on all fronts:

Under 11 Girls GMJHL (16 teams)
Timperley A - 2nd
Timperley B - 7th

Under 11 Boys GMJHL (14 teams)
Timperley - 2nd

Under 13 Girls GMJHL (12 teams)
Timperley A - 2nd
Timperley B - 4th

Under 13 Boys GMJHL (8 teams)
Timperley - 3rd

Under 15 Mixed GMJHL (9 teams)
Timperley - 4th

Closing off this weeks hockey round up sadly there'll be not trip to Lee Valley this season for the club finals as the Mixed XI lost 2 - 1 away at Oxton in the Quarter Finals - new tactics on the art of the mixed game for next season !

Summer Hockey

Summer League starts on 14th / 15th May and the ladies league if now pretty much full with 16 sides signed up and paid ! Great job by Jackie Lord getting this sorted so efficiently. Ladies - please see Pitchero message from Jo Robinson, Club Captain about Summer League and make sure if you want to play you go onto Pitchero and update your availability (see new Summer League Team). All players need to complete availability as the three weekly THC teams will be picked from those who have replied !

The Men's Summer League is also doing well with the majority of team slots booked with a few left. Again thanks to Jackie and Dave Halkyard for helping get the league set up. Gents keep an eye out for details about the three Timperley Teams.

We will also be setting up the Rota's for running the Leagues on the night from umpiring to doing the table, timing and collecting the money so an ideal opportunity to do your bit !

FIH Pro League

We've two free tickets up for grabs to our Volunteers who helped make hockey happen at Timperley this season - see the News Article and contact Shelagh by 12noon on 20th April if you'd like to put your name in the hat for the tickets for GB Men v Spain at Lee Valley on 4th May (and club finals thrown in too!). This is just one of the ways we will be thanking our army of volunteers for all their support and time over the season.

There are still tickets for the Pro League see EH Website - but if you can't make it make sure you try and watch on BT Sport or online - its key that we get more people watching hockey live, online or on TV to help promote the sport and its great for more players, parents and coaches to watch (and learn from!) international hockey ! Galvanised Hockey has also been streaming the EHL Play Offs this weekend so take a look at their coverage too !

Time for Dinner !

The 2019 Hockey Dinner is a sell out with 130 folks coming along on 26th April and an email will be going out with finalised details before Easter so look out for that if your coming !

Tickets are also still available for the TSC 'only fools....' Dining Experience on 21st and 22nd June - his is a great night and open to all, don't miss out and pick up your tickets from the bar or follow the online link http://www.timperleyhockeyclub.com/news/only-fools-the-cushty-dining-experience-comes-to-t-2411439.html
