A bumper week on and off the pitch shining a light on our #clubspirit and the wonders of our #hockeyfamily from our Under 10's to Over 50's !

#PaintTheClubPink

Blue turned to pink this week as the whole of Timperley Sports Club got behind #PaintAltrinchamPink to raise awareness and funds to help Prevent Breast Cancer. This has been our first major TSC event of this type and we should thank Caroline Small for getting it off the ground. There's been a tremendous response the Pink Club t-shirts and over £500 has been raised so far - an extra order has been placed for more small (and potentially extra small for kids) t-shirt after we sold out last weekend. We also had a fantastic response to wearing Pink at Sunday and Tuesday training.

This weekend there will be:

- a Cake Sale on Saturday (17th ) and Sunday (18th) and we need your cake donations to sell - please drop off at the club over the weekend or on Friday evening and pop in the committee room.

- Pink and Green Social - 17th March - informal hockey drinks and social to get people together in the bar for a few drinks and see where it goes after the day's hockey including the Men's 1 v Bowdon at 11.45am, a thriller for the Beavers as they play an internal club Blue v Pink match. It would be great to see as many players / teams back at the club as possible - its also the 200 Club Draw from around 6pm

Super Sunday brings home the trophies and National and Regional Finals places !

A very successful Sunday on the pitch on 11th March and congratulations to:

- Men's Over 50's surviving the trip to Taunton Vale HC, and the stop over in Gloucester on Saturday night, to come away 3-1 winners in the EH Tier 3 Masters Championships. The gents did us proud again and are in their second EH National Final in two years. This time its off to the University of Birmingham on 28th April. Lets get a good crowd down to support and bring home a trophy this year.Congratulations to Colin and the squad and Jamie as coach and thanks to Nick Burnett for making the trip to Umpires.

- Under 10's Boys - crowned Cheshire Mini's champions and win a place in the North Regional Finals on in mid April at Leeds University. The boys will be joined by the Under 10 girls and the Under 12 boys who also qualified in their respective age groups as runners up. Congratulations to all our young players, coaches, parent managers, supporters and umpires on the day including Dave Halkyard, Kelly Burdett and GG from the 1st teams and our young beaver umpires too. Well done also to the Under 12 girls who didn't make it through this year but had a good days hockey.

- Congratulations also to our Under 15 Girls who won the Greater Manchester Junior Hockey League for their age group - a great achievement for all involved, playing, coaching, managing and supporting and umpire Jackie Lord. We won the league last year so its great to retain the shield for another year.

- the Under 18 Boys and Girls both lost in their respective EH Quarter Finals to Leek (3-1) for the boys and Repton (5-0) for the girls. Both sides played some excellent hockey, dug in, never gave up and showed some real determination against tough opposition. Thanks to all involved and everyone who travelled to Repton with the girls, including Savs (coach) and umpire Andy Foster.

Weekend hockey and weather !

Fingers crossed the Beast from the East again decides to skirt around WA15 and Timperley and the pitches stay frost free. The Men's 1's play Bowdon at home (11.45am) and the other early match is the Ladies 5's v Winnington Park. All teams should check with their oppo before travelling. The Ladies 1's are off to Sutton Coldfield and the Men's 2's are off to Neston in their final countdown of games looking for six points from the last nine to pip Wilmslow to the Division 3 title and promotion. Let's support the 2's in ever way we can - they play Wrexham on Sunday away (although if their pitch is frozen and ours isn't the game will be at Timperley at 2.30pm. So get down and help get the 2's over the line and winning promotion.

Our match day sponsor this weekend is Dave Litt who has dedicated it in memory of his Dad, Mick, long time club members and supporter and Honorary Life Member. If you knew Mick - take a moment to remember good times at the club with him this weekend. Thanks to Litty for sponsoring the games.

...and finally we still have places on the Umpires course this Sunday at Timperley there are no other courses with places in the North West with places now for some time so if you fancy grabbing a last minute place so they don't go to waste contact Nick Burnett or Shelagh Entwisle asap (Aged 14+) and non charge for THC Hockey Family attending ! EH charge of £50 for anyone from any other clubs / schools.

Lets hope we miss the Beast from the East II and get another good weekend's hockey in !
