Weekly Update - pre-season BBQ and a Top 10 to kick the season off !

It's been great to see so many old and new faces down to the pre-season club training sessions on a Tuesday (7.00pm - 8.30pm) and at Thursday Fitness (7.00pm - 7.45pm) as more and more players return to the Club during August to pick up a stick and hit the turf ! With the Men's and Women's Performance Squads also training on Tuesday and Saturday's its good to see so many people around.

On and Off the pitch we're full on ahead of the league season - have a look at our top 10 things to get everyone in the swing of things !

Anyone looking to watch some hockey this Saturday (18th) need go no further than South Down's Road as the Men's 1 head off to play newly promoted to the National League, Alderley Edge at 12.45pm and Bowdon at 2pm (well hopefully the red and black will allow the lads a break !). The Ladies 1's are off to the Wirral on a team building event too so will be a quiet day at the club with no training.

Top Ten to help prepare for the season !

#1. Save the Date - Saturday 1st September from 6.30pm for our Pre-season BBQ

Everyone's invited down for an informal social, bring partners, kids and dogs and join us for a BBQ for a fiver (kids eat free). Informal Socials we're one of the things last season's member survey highlighted to 'do more of' so here's our first one of the season. Come down, catch up with mates and if you're free in the day come down and watch the Ladies 1's who are hosting Gloucester Hockey Club and Bowdon in a pre-season friendly Tournament at the Club
- 1st Game - Timperley V Gloucester (11.00 PB)
- 2nd Game - Bowdon V Gloucester (14:00 PB)
- 3rd Game - Bowdon V Timperley (16:30 PB)

Thanks to the Ladies 1's for arranging our first informal social of the year. Good luck to the Men's 1's who will be playing in the Cannock Cup and we hope the Ladies 2's will return from the pre-season tournament at the Armitage Centre with some more silverware !

#2. Come along to Tuesday Training in August from 7pm

Get those silky skills honed for the season and come down to the pre season 90 minute club training sessions for men and women. Club training will revert to the normal 7.00pm - 8.15pm session from 4th September and Men's and Women's 2/3's training will run from 8.15pm - 9.45pm /10pm

#3. TSC Member Early Bird Tickets for Faulty Towers Dining Experience are now on sale

Don't miss the return of this unique dining experience brought to you at TSC ! Timperley Sports Club members have until Sunday 26th August to buy tickets from the bar at the early-bird discounted rate of £37.00. Purchase in person, or by phone 0161 980 4397. (Parents of TSC members can benefit from the early bird priority window if book by 26th August). The Non-member ticket price is £42.00

#4. Don't miss out on Pre-season Friendlies - get your Pitchero Profile Updated or set one up

Stay in touch with team communications, load your availability and look out for all the fixture news and selection from September as we roll out the use of Pitchero for the senior teams, joining the Academy who used it last season.

Choose which option you prefer:
- the APP version (Club and Manager version for captains and teams manager). Download from the APP store just search Pitchero and the App also has limited / no adverts
- or access via the website
- or both !

Players need to update or load up their profile by 31st August and ideally load a photo - and update key information including emergency contact details and any medical conditions - if you'd prefer not to load medical details please contact your team or club captain. If you have your own THC playing shirt please add in your shirt number too !

Captains will be getting to grips with the system over the next few weeks, fixtures will be loaded (or click on the THC TEAM FIXTURES TAB for access to Fixtures Live) and players 'tagged' to teams / groups to start loading up availability and selection

#5. Pay your subs and get a TSC ClubCard if you've not got one !

Help reduce the hours spent chasing subs - everyone's had the opportunity to play or train for the last few months so lets get subs in early and if you've not got a Club Card to use at the bar ask for a form at the bar and for every £1 you upload onto your card you'll get an extra 10% to spend.

If you'd like to pay your subs in two or three payments you need to get the first payment set up on Pitchero by 25th August

#6. Mouth Guards, Kit and Academy Registration - 2nd September

Khalid the Dentist will be down to fit senior and academy custom mouth guards with a full range of colours, styles and types. Silver FX will be down with samples of kit for sizing and taking orders and any player Under 16 should come down to register (with a parent or guardian to sign consent forms and pay subs).

#7. August Fit Hit Sessions - only 3 to go !

Don't miss the final three Fit Hit sessions with Rick Poole on Thursday 's in August - £3 on the night - be down ready to start at 7pm for a full 45 minutes sessions tailored to all abilities. Please be down for 6.50pm to register

#8. Drink Pink - throw in some rounders and a BBQ at TSC on Friday 31st August

#9. Give a little back - inspire the next generation and make hockey happen !

With ever growing numbers of young players and teams we are always on the look out for players and parents who'd like to get involved in coaching on a Sunday and helping with 18+ Academy teams. There are all sorts of ways to get involved and we're looking for senior players with an interest in helping out coach a team or support our regular coaching session. We'll provide training and support - if you'd like to find out more please contact Shelagh, Caroline Small or Nisha.

We've lots of other areas that we need help to keep the hockey at Timperley moving forward and we'll be sharing details over the next few weeks. If interested speak to Shelagh or any of the club captains on Saturday 1st September

#10. Date for the Diary - more socials for 2018-19

Our aim is to pair men's and ladies teams up to organise a number of socials for the year. So get your team mates thinking what you'd like to do !

Next up is a social on Saturday 22nd September - we've booked the club and need to firm up which teams will take this on and the format - we're looking at options right now - so SAVE THE DATE

We'll be publishing the main dates for socials at the start of September - look out for the planned return of Stars in their Eyes in January and the Dinner Dance is booked in for Saturday 20th April .

So time to get into the mood for some hockey and the new season !
