Catch up with this week's news at THC - goals galore, hosting one EH's Club Forums , the big Club Tie Vote and 007 Dinner Date confirmed !

Whilst it was a weekend of mixed results for some teams - including a rare blip for both the Men's 2's and Manchester City - both 1's teams nailed the three points with three goals a piece.

The Men slotting in three at Sheffield Bankers and by all accounts it should have been more - but in the topsy turvy world of the North Premier Division prop up the pack of four club's vying for the National League promotion sport. We're 3 points off the top spot and all to play for as the Premier is poised to have one of the most exciting finishes to the season for many years. The Men's 1 play Oxton at 2.15pm this Saturday (24th Feb) so please come down and show your support - we need to win all out game and have a bit of luck along the way but lets give the lads all the support we can to try and get to Timperley teams in the National League !

The Ladies 1's also nailed the key win against Wakefield who they now sit above in the table. Catch up the latest Ladies 1 Post Match Video Report and Update

Sunday saw two more solid wins in the EH championships. Congratulations to the Men's Over 50's who saw off Wakefield 5-0 in the Tier 3 Quarter Final to make it to the Semi's to be played on 11th March - draw still to take place. The Mixed XI took on Brooklands straight after in the Tier 1 championships and, even with the neighbours bringing four first team men along, popped in four goals in the opening ten minutes of the game and went on to win 9 -2 with co-captains Wez Wareham bagging six !

Timperley Colours Past and Present !

Thanks to Dave Halkyard who this week has progressed the sorting out a new THC Club Tie - run a vote on twitter on the design and got everything in place to put in an order ! Ties will be priced at £15 and include a contribution to our fund-raising targets. Look out for details and how to pre -order one.

Nick Burnett will be hosting one of his infamous 'older' members lunches at the Club on Friday 23rd February and many of the attendees proudly wear their THC ties from the Club's centenary season from 1986-7. We hope that some may be tempted to purchase once of the new THC Ties to add to their collection and we've left Nick in charge of this sales role ! If you know of any former players or members of the club who may be interested in coming along to the lunches or who may have lost touch with the club please let Nick know.

James Bond comes to Timperley - 20th April

We may have our very own Frank Sidebotttom residing in Timperley Village but we're also bringing a touch a 007 glamour to the club on 20th April with our James Bond themed Hockey Dinner and Awards. This years we've taken on board ideas from different teams and added some new elements into the mix to hopefully make this a big club night to remember. Find out more and why we need you to get your tickets early ! 2018 Hockey Dinner

Two World Cup's !

Don't forget to the Club are raising funds to buy a new super large TV for the Fifa World Cup taking place this summer - so don't forget to get your bonus ball number on a Saturday from Sam or Jane. The Footy is just a warm up of course as the World Cup this summer that promises to serve up more excitement and more chance of a GB win is of course the Vitality Women's World Cup being played at Lee Valley from 21st July to 5th August.

This week we hosted one of the EH regional club forums that focused on identifying and sharing ideas between clubs of what we can do to be part of the Hockey World Cup - to raise the profile of our sport, get more people involved, keep people involved or attend and experience a world class hockey event on our doorstep.

We'd really like your ideas about what we can do at THC - from socials to watch the GB Games together on the new bigger than ever telly to how we weave the World Cup into out planned events. If you've got tickets and are going don't forget to wear something to promote THC down South ! Find out more at the EH Website Women's Hockey World Cup

#GrowOurOwn
We've a Safeguarding Course on this Monday 26th February is there are any last takers to attend from across the club - please let Caroline Small know asap. Caroline is also working with EH to help set up a whole range of courses to develop our coaches and volunteers in May / June as part of a development week.

The Whistlers course on 18th March is slowly filling up - we're half way there so have 8 more places up for grabs - grab Shelagh Entwisle, Kieran Jefffrey or Nick Burnett to find out more and neitehr course will cost you a penny as THC will fund your place.

Winter Weather
Its back if you believe the News ! So dont forget to check in with captains and the oppo if a captain before travelling to away games. For home games we'll get updates out asap via the website, twitter and facebook and via captains.

Website
Noticed anything different about the website ? We're trialling a few new options over the next 2 months with Pitchero to see if the benefits, and look and feel of the site are liked by members and maybe worth the additional monthly costs (that like all our costs comes from all the money we raise from match fees and fundraising to run hockey at THC). We'll be trying some new design layouts to give the site a refresh that impact the home page mainly and over the coming weeks we'd love to hear your thoughts on what works and what doesn't. Take a look at the new Timperley Sports Club website too - as we'll be testing a similar style / design so the hockey site fits better in the overall look of #OneClubFourSports http://www.timperley-sports.com/

And finally, delayed by a week, it will be the February 200 Club this Saturday at the Club - 6pm - 6.30pm - so stay down for a drink or come back to the club as the snowball starts to build again !

Have a good hockey weekend !
