With the last two Beavers games lost to frozen pitches Timperley Beavers looked a little rusty as they started against the red and blacks of Bowden. Timperley fielded a strong team, looking to secure a win in the local derby. In a first half that saw good movement both on and off the ball the majority of the play was in the Bowden half. Despite Timperley possession and territorial dominance the forward players were not able to find the back of the net. Midway through the half the deadlock was broken as Ewan netted the first of hist two goals to see Timps lead 2 - 0 at half time. Coach Higgin sprinkled seasonal magic over the team at half time with the Blues springing to life straight from the restart. An early goal from Wilf opened the flood gates. As the sun set, temperatures dropped and fog began to descend everyone wanted to put their name on the score sheet, ensuring that it wasn't just the turkey that was stuffed this Christmas. Timps scored eleven goals in the second half with out conceding, Ben maintaining concentration throughout the game to keep a clean sheet.
A great finish to the year and an early Christmas present for the spectators. Well done to all those on the pitch against Bowden and the whole Beavers squad that have contributed to a very strong start to our season.
