2. THC and EH Codes

Everyone involved in the sport should promote equality of access and opportunity, fairness and respect. All those involved within hockey have a responsibility to act according to the highest standards of integrity and to ensure that the reputation of the sport is, and remains, high.

Timperley Hockey Club (THC), as a section of Timperley Sports Club Ltd (TSC), strives to ensure that the spirit of ethos of the sport is reflected in the conduct of all involved with hockey on and off the pitch at the Club. We pride ourselves in being an inclusive, safe and welcoming club and the all involved in hockey at Timperley have a role to play in maintaining this environment.

THC supports and follows the guidance set out in England Hockey's (EH) Code of Ethics & Behaviour which covers people involved in hockey in this country. The EH Code has been applied to set out the expectations of all involved in hockey at THC and is supplemented by our own THC Disciplinary Code and Code of Conduct. Where relevant there may also be TSC policies that relate to those involved in hockey at Timperley.

The EH Code encapsulates all of the sporting, moral and ethical principles that hockey represents and is intended for all participants and disciplines within the sport however they choose to participate – as a player, umpire, coach, official, volunteer or a parent supporting on the sidelines.

Breaches of the Code(s)

England Hockey has processes in place to managed potential breaches of the code and these work along side those of the relevant county, regional or league procedures.

Our THC Disciplinary Code also sets out internal THC processes for handling any potential breach of relevant codes, members receiving cards and any other relevant hockey related matter. Wider conduct matters that relate to TSC, or more serious matters that may require sanctions up to and including suspension and exclusion from TSC will be referred to the TSC Board to be managed under their disciplinary process set out in the TSC Rules.

If you have concerns about the conduct or behaviour of hockey members or those involved in hockey at Timperley please raise as soon as practicable with the hockey: Chair; Vice Chair or Secretary or relevant Club Captain and provide details so that the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken
