Weekly update - 14th of Nov

Well I've left this until thurs night again....what exciting things can I write about to gee you all up for the weekend?! I hope it stops raining soon, it's grim isn't it at the moment!! Anyway, England are winning so that's nice!

I think Shelagh might have reached the penguins by now. Do you know why Polar Bears don't eat Penguins?....this will teach you not to feed in content to me won't it.....I talk about absolute bobbins if you don't!!

Best get back to the Hockey - it was a jam packed weekend last weekend, a full programme on the Sat, followed by EH cup games for the Ladies 1's, 2's and the Men's Over 50's....I'll update you on the grudge match later!!

Scores on the doors for Sat;
Ladies 1s v Pendle Forest 1s - 2 : 4 (first loss of the season!)
Ladies 2s v Fylde 2s - 1 : 2
Ladies 3s v Warrington 1s - 2 : 3
Ladies 4s v Warrington 2s - 4 : 1 (yes L4's....I was beginning to think I was going for a clean sweep of loses!)
Ladies 5s v Golborne 2s - 3 : 3

Mens 1s v Didsbury 1s - 6 : 1
Mens 2s v Winnington 1s - 5 : 1 (still unbeaten!)
Mens 3s v Sale 1s - 3 : 4 (the unlucky run continues!)
Mens 4s v Deeside 5s - 5 : 1
Mens 5s v Triton 4s - 5 : 1
Mens 6s v Macclesfield 4s - 4 : 0 (unbeaten too!)
Mens 7s v Crewe 4s - 2 : 3

Blue Badgers v Brooklands - 0 : 13 (Boooo Brooklands, nasty lot!)
Badgers v Alderley - 3 : 0
Beavers v Bowdon - 0 : 7

Congratulations and commiserations to all concerned!

Update on Sunday's excitement!
There were three EH games this Sunday.
Unfortunately the L1's lost in their first round game against Ben Rhydding 1 : 2.
However the L2's won a thriller against Sale on flicks after the game finished 1 : 1, they go on to play Garstang in the next round in mid Dec.
And on the subject of the mighty Mens O50's grudge match against Formby......we won!! 3 : 2, by all accounts we were coasting at 3 : 0 until a couple of late goals made it look slightly closer than it was. There are a few walking/hobbling wounded.....but I guess that is to be expected with the oldies isn't it!!

Things to remember this weekend!!
We have another double header for you all to look forward to this sat! With both the Ladies 1's and Mens 1's playing. Come down and support, should be a great atmosphere.....if it stops raining!!
L1 v Doncaster 14.00
M1 v deeside 18.00

And....its the 200 club draw as well on Sat, the snowball is up to £300! If you don't have a number in the 200 club you can normally buy one on the night, or set up a DD for your own number in the draw, people like Malcolm Tucker, Nick Burnett or the Judster can help get you set-up!

Thanks to this weekends match day sponsors, Kitchens of Altrincham, and an even bigger thank you for a third year of sponsoring L1s. Kitchens will be down at the club this sat if anyone is thinking about a renovation!

Good luck to everyone this weekend - that includes some more EH Cup games this Sunday....the Judster leads his not so oldies into battle with the Mens O40's playing Golborne, the Ladies O35's (absolute spring chickens) play a team with a really long name from the Isle of Man, and our U14 Girls play Brooklands.

That's it I think.....well done for reading this far if you did, well done indeed!! Next week I'll update you on penguins and polar bears, plus anything else I can think about regarding Antarctica! Boom!!!!
