Mission accomplished !

A fine 4 - 0 victory played in near perfect conditions !

Four weeks after defeat to Macclesfield the 5's have well and truly bounced back and playing their best hockey of the season ! Credit to all the players who have taken on the learning and brought a whole new level to their hockey in 2014 with two great performances.

New challenges were set this week with the players Under 18 rising to the challenge to: score more goals, command the attacking penalty corners and try out playing in different positions. The honourables too too on the challenge too mixing it up too with Sue P and Cuey making appearances in the attacking 23m in the second half !

Now to the game against a skillful and well matched Alderley team that showed great pace but with a huge improvement in our marking, team work when defending and decision making on tackling Timperley delivered a controlled, mature and accomplished performance when defending and a clean sheet.

Attacking wise we couldn't have asked for more - flowing hockey, great movement and anticipation on and off the ball.

2 - 0 up at half time following a sneaky goal tucked away by Mimi and text book conversion of a loose ball in the 'D' by Suzy. The first half was also marked out by the first defence play right from Olivia in goal who was confident and dominant in the 'D' and really good strong performances from Katrina, Lydia, Leah, Lauren and Ellie plus of course the honourables showing some old dogs new tricks moments !

With the team feeling confident and composed changes were made in the second half to try out different positions and options ad everyone raised to the challenge. Notable were Leah taking on the role as Ring Wing, Sue moving up to deep centre mid, Lauren playing right mid, and Ellie moving to right defence.

Highlights being two goals from the Under 18's with Mimi snatching another cross / shot to make certain of the goal following a great effort by Leah, followed by Mimi scoring from a Penalty Corner first time strike to bag her second hat trick of the season ! With shots coming in from Erin, Lauren and Leah the Under 18's can feel mission accomplished on bagging goals and attacking play !
