Strong first half enough for 3 points

Timperley welcomed Didsbury to Stockport Road for their first home game of the campaign.

Unfortunately Timperley had to make some enforced changes with Heywood and Hindle last minute withdrawals.

As the game started Timperley started quickly as, in only the 4th minute Owen Walsham found space on the right, dropped the ball back to Price whose ball found Bolton at the back post who deflected nicely at the back post.

As the team settled down the midfield of Bangee, McBride and Walsham were running the game nicely, finding and space at will.

In the 14th minute Timperley doubled their lead as this time McCarthy and Bolton linked as McCarthy found space on the left and his reverse stick cross picked Bolton out how had his second.

2 was soon 3 after some nice play earnt a penalty corner that Hardern duly converted.

Timperley further extended their lead as Hardern doubled this tally with another short corner.

At 4-0 Timperley were looking comfortable but Didsbury continued to keep the home side honest as Small initially thwarted two potential attacks with timely interventions before Jones made a smart save from a short corner. But these were the only real threats that Didsbury created to trouble Jones, Price, Small, Saunders, Hardern and Hughes.

There was just enough time for Timperley to score their 5th as some great work from the eventual Man of the Match Bangee found McCarthy whose reverse stick shot was no match for the Didsbury 'keeper. Bangee has been a real find, starting the season in fine form as his displays so maturity beyond his years.

As half time came Didsbury and Timperley both lost players for green cards as Didsbury started to show their frustration by sharing one to many thoughts with the umpires and Saunders going for a less than desirable tackle.

Sutcliffe was again, happy with the first half display but was looking for Timperley to produce the same in the second half.

As the second half started Timperley showed glimpses of their 1st half performance which Bolton receiving the ball at the top of the d and forcing a good save from the Didsbury 'keeper.

Not long after Timperley forced another short corner which Bolton almost deflected home for his hattrick.

At this point Timperley stopped playing the pattern that had served them so well and started looking to crash ball which meant Timperley turned the ball over allowing Didsbury possession which they were able to create chances. After winning a short corner Didsbury finally got on the scoreboard via a cleverly worked routine.

This appeared to give Timperley some impetus as Bolton had another shot well saved by the keeper. However, it wasn't long before the 6th was added. From a short corner that broke down Hardern weaved his way into the D before shooting. The shot was partially saved but fell to Higgin 6 inches from the line who gleefully helped it on it's way.

After a yellow for Didsbury Timperley added a 7th as McCarthy added his second to seal the victory.

Timperley now face old foes Flyde that they know will be a much tougher encounter than the previous two weeks
