2s go 3 from 3

The 2s ventured up to Fylde looking to continue with their good form although wary of a team they have always had good battles with in the previous seasons.

The blues were buoyed by the single change of the returning Wilson after a long lay off.

Sutcliffe and Small kept the intensity up and ensured the messages were clear as concise to make sure that the blues did not lose focus.

Timperley got off to almost the perfect start as on only the 4th minute Hardern converted a short corner.

For once the goal didn't spur the 2s on as they lost their structure which allowed Fylde to exploit where they were able to carve out 2 chances.

As Timperley regained their composure they started to find their grove which was proving too much for Fylde as the all midfielders were able to find space at will.

In the 13th minute that pressure paid off as Walsham rounded two defenders before finding Bolton who's healthy relationship with the goal continue as he calmly slotted, doubling the Timperley lead was doubled.

Hardern, Hughes, Wilson, Higgin, Young, McBride, Walsham, Burgess, Lord and Bangee were rotating to great effect, dominating the midfield which created a number of chances for Timperley who were guilty of wasting chances but were also met by a Fylde keeper who was in fine form, pulling off a string of top saves.

With all the pressure it wasn't long before the lead was further extended as McCarthy found the net after adjusting his radar. He and Bolton are starting to form quite the partnership which the team hope continue.

By now the back 3 of Saunders, Price and Small were feeling relatively comfortable with the odd foray to deal with but in the main they were mainly there as a supportive role. This mean that other than the earlier scares Jones was very much a spectator.

3 soon became 4 as some quality work from Higgin saw him fire a reverse stick pass across the D that found Burgess who calmly slotted high, over the keeper.

2 minutes later McBride got in on the act as following some good work from Bangee on the left he found McBride how picked his spot and buried it. The setup from Bangee making up for his shot earlier as the pressures of the family watching on got the better of him as the shot was misconstrued by his uncles as a clearance.

Half time the message was simple, complete the performance and deliver the same performance in the 2nd half.

The 2nd half couldn't have started any better as Lord found himself in the D where he forced the save from the keeper who only managed to parry into the path of McCarthy who doubled his tally for the day.

It was at 6-0 that Timperley started to ring the changes which disrupted their pattern, causing confusion that allowed Fylde into the game. This resulted in Fylde winning a couple of short corners which they converted one of them with a flick into the bottom left corner of Jones' goal.

1 became 2 as the Timperley didn't react, leaving the Fylde forward Oakes free. He made no mistake as he calmly moved the ball round Jones to slot into an empty goal to make it 6-2.

Timperley thwarted any ideas of a comeback after some speedy work from Walsham saw the keeper brought him down, leaving the umpire no choice but to award a flick which Price converted.

With the game all but done Timperley were able to add their 8th in the 65th minute after yet more success down the Fylde left saw some smart interchange before the ball fell free to Burgess who smashed home from close range.

Timperley were pleased to leave with the 3 points however recognised that there were still areas to improve on.

A top of the table clash awaits the 2s as they welcome Windermere to Stockport Road which will be a real test of how well the team are playing.
