Preston Beavers run out winners but Timps learn from the experience.

There were many positives to take from this game which saw Timps Beavers step up against a strong opposition. Timps may be able to claim to claim the moral victory as we had our own Alex Riley in nets and two substitutes playing for City of Preston as they arrived for the fixture with only ten players.
With players settling into favoured positions there was some great hockey on show. Harriet stretched the oppositions players down her win and had some great passing exchanges with Edward and Fergus on the right wing. Anna and Wilf distributed the ball well from midfield and there was plenty of movement off the ball with Will McB, Rory and Josh making space and losing markers up front. Good defensive shifts were put in from Harvey, Ella and Josh C-L with Tully being called on to make a number of short range saves and clearances from through balls into the D.
Despite losing, the team can take a number of positives from this game. We are really starting to move the ball well. The lesson that we must let the ball do the work and not always run through opposition was demonstrated in this game - Preston Beavers doing the basics with players in all positions making tackles mean that we had to move the ball. Credit to Timps Beavers in do this. Energy levels began to drop towards the end of the game, perhaps we'll look at working on stamina!
Finally we'd all like to wish Harvey a speedy recovery from a nasty ball to hand in the dying moments of the game.
