Weekly Update is back - catch up will all the hockey pre-season news !

With hockey now notching up the gears weekly update is back to keep everyone up to date with all the THC news and updates !

Congratulations to all our Blues our on representative duties !
Whilst all eyes may be on Birmingham and the Commonwealth Games we've got our own players flying the Timperley Flag on representative duties - and more to follow in coming weeks ! Big shout out and congratulations to:

- our 11 young blues who have been in Nottingham this week at the England Hockey Challenge Cup tournament between regional Performance Centre from across England. This has been a great experience for all players and both to recognise the hard work they've put in on the pitch this season and how well they've grown and developed. Its also where EH selection players for the England Age Group trials so a great opportunity for our players to demonstrate their potential. Big well done to:

Under 15's - Lilia, Hannah, Verity, Josh and Ben
Under 17's - Wilk, Oli, Ed, Will, Zac and Mihir

- Congratulations to Eve Bowen playing for Wales Under 21's the the U21 Euro's this week too - a fantastic opportunity to experience playing against the best teams in Europe in a really tough group with Holland, Spain and Belgium

- Masters representative hockey continues to grow and grow and this weekend Col Taylor has been out in Germany with the England O60's and David Hans is getting in tip top condition ready to play for England in the O40's World Cup in Nottingham 12th to 21st August in Nottingham. We'll have more news of the women's Masters World Cup travel and exploits over the next few weeks ! And of course John Donnelly if bound to be off traveling somewhere to play with Wales O75s!

Pre Season Kit Order Deadline - TODAY 31st July !
Our preseason kit order window closes today so don't miss out if you want any kit ready for the start of the season. Just a reminder we need a minimum of 5 orders per garment for orders to be processed. Refunds will be made if minimum orders not hit for any items.

If you miss tonight deadline if you try by Monday lunchtime you may still make the cut off but this cant be guaranteed so do today if you can !

The next order window will be in early September so don't worry if you miss out and we'll be running some pre loved and old stock kit sales in early September too for the Juniors on 4th and 5th September and Seniors on 10th September.

Summer of hockey - get watching !
This Summer there's lots of hockey to watch - tune into the BBC to watch the home nations at the Commonwealth Games and take the opportunity to watch hockey on the iplayer / free to view TV! There are still tickets available for CWG games so get on line and grab some tickets ! If you're in Birmingham for the games take something Timperley branded with you to fly the flag and look out for some of the many blues making the trip down !

There's also the chance to watch England Women at close quarters at the Euro Qualifiers at Durham Uni at the end of August and as a smaller event its a great opportunity to take young players along to watch England Women. Ground tickets are £8 for juniors and £18 for adults and seating (under cover tickets are £15 and £30) for two games per session. Seating is selling fast so don't miss out and there are already Timperley folks booking in for the Thursday and Sunday session

If you fancy something closer to home we have the opportunity to #WatchYour 1's in Cheshire Cup action in August too! The Men head to Neston on 13th August for their QF and the women head to Alderley Edge (PB's tbc) and both will be looking to get a win under their belts to start the 2022-23 season and a place at Cheshire Cup (Semi and) Finals Day at Timperley on Sunday 21st August 2022

Back on the turf !
More comms will be coming out this week as the rest of the club look to gear up to getting back on the turf ! The Performance Squads are training hard on Tuesday and Thursdays and Club Training for all other senior groups will start on Tuesday 6th September . Pre-season friendlies are being firmed up across the senior sides and we also have the Pat Marston Challenge v Bowdon on the weekend 10th / 11th September. The Adult Leagues start on Saturday 24th September .

Under12's and below will start back on Sunday 4th September with our Under 14 and 16's moving to their new time of 17:15 to 18:45 on a Monday evening from 5th September. more details will follow over the next week or so on registration for all Under 18's.

Community Walking Group - help spread the word !
Do you know someone who would benefit from talking those first steps to get active, aimed at those who are less active, looking improve their mobility, or are rehabilitating from illness of injury, or would like to meet new people? Family, friends, neighbours ? Help us to get Timperley Moving and share details of the new (free) community walking group the club is running in partnership with Chews Health

Walks will be run weekly from 1st August meeting at the club at 10am tailored to ability and for 30 to 60 minutes and building up to longer walks. This is part of the club community programme and we'd love it if members can help spread the word
