This year is proving to be our busiest pre-season ever as the new programme both on and off the pitch gets underway! This week's update shares more opportunities academy and senior players during pre- season!
What's been happening ....
Performance Squad training for men and women is now up and running and we're still running the Fit Hit sessions until 27th July with Rick Poole on Thursdays open to all - £3. If the numbers attending increase and there is the demand we will look to extend the sessions but its a case of 'use it or loose it' !
Last Friday we had our first hockey social of the season and had a cracking night being entertained by Comedy Hypnotist Night Alan Bates - and his side kicks - Kieran George, Billy Beaumont and Jim McCall who were excellent sports. Great feedback after the event and hopefully we will so another night next year so if you missed it do come along to the next one for an evening with a difference !
On Sunday we had brilliant weather for the return of our Summer Mixed 7's with 13 teams competing in an excellent day organised by Sarah Chancellor. It was also good to see the Timperley teams in action and some good #OneClub mixing going on !
We've also advertised for Women's 1st Team players to help strengthen the squad for the new season - with some of the squad taking time out to do their bit for our 'home grown' policy with recently announced pregnancies!
The next seven days ....
Summer League Finals Nights - for the Men on Tuesday 11th July - and Women on Wednesday 12th July. A huge thank to Jackie Lord, Pat Jones, Cath Thompson and everyone who has helped out running the desk weekly and playing. Summer League is not only an excellent fund raiser for the section but also a great way to keep fit and match sharp and enjoy some social hockey ! We'll be running both leagues again next season too.
Club Training starts on Tuesday 18th July .....7.00pm - 8.30pm (Green pitch) for all players not involved in the Performance Squad coaching. This season we have some changes to the coaching team with Mark Worlsey and Nigel Stanhope joining Jamie Buxton to make up the coaching team that will be running Club Coaching sessions throughout the season. The sessions are part of our new 'Timperley Tuesdays' hockey night with men and women training on the same night - and of course the opportunity to decamp to the bar afterwards ! So this this session is open to both to all current and new players and any academy players who are moving into Year 12 in September and not already playing senior hockey.

With a large and diverse membership we aim to provide something for everyone and to get the best all round programme, using our funds and facilities in the most effective way we have some changes this season. The Committee do feel that these are in the best interests of the whole club give members the best range of opportunities. If we increased our subs and fees we could of course provide alot more - but overall we aim to provide great value and the best facilities in the area. The main change for many this season is bringing a #OneTeam approach to coaching under Albert and creating a #OneClub senior training night on a Tuesday. If you've not had chance to look at the plans in our Pre-Season BlueNotes Special a copy is attached.
We look forward to seeing you over the next few weeks with some many different things on at the Club
Have a good pre-season!
