Lots happening this week as the start of the league season is looming with the Cheshire Women's League teams starting their season on 16th September and all other teams from 23rd September. Here's a snap shot of what's coming up and things to add to your hockey jobs list !

CLUBNIGHTS

We had our first full Tuesday #Clubnight this week as the new training programme kicked in. With back to back hockey from 5.45pm to 10.00pm for men, women and older academy players - all on one night - at the club !

Over 150 players were down for the nine specific coaching sessions run on the night - a fantastic advert for the diversity of hockey and how its has something for all ages and abilities. If you've not seen the new training times check out the details

The clubhouse was also buzzing with various gatherings from men's selection, badger and beaver parents meetings, Men's 1, parents and players coming in before / after training and we even fitted in welcoming Helen Clarke from England Hockey - who is our Relationship Manager (whilst Julie Longden is on Mat. Leave).

So if you've not got down to training yet - come along next week !

KIT ORDERS

The deadline for the first order of the season is Sunday 10th September 2017 - you need to order online. If you need a shirt number please email Nisha for academy players or timperleyhc@gmail.com for senior players.

Orders must be made online https://silverfx.co.uk/category/sports-clubs/timperley-hockey-club/timperley-hockey-club-ladies/. For more info on kit see the recent news item on the website.

If you have queries on academy sizing we now have some sample skorts and shirts. Steph Ashworth who is taking on the kit co-ordinator role will have the samples with her on Sunday at the Academy registration desk.

We also have new supplies of club blue THC socks coming available at £6 a pair

SUBS - don't miss out on the opportunity to pay in two instalments !

Timperley Sports Club annual membership subscriptions are due for payment by 1st October. To help members (18+) spread the cost of membership if you sign up on line by 14th September you can pay in two instalments with payments due on 15th September and 28th October.

Subs can be paid on line as a single payment, or over the bar by cash or card.

See full details of subs and how to pay and what subs and a summary of how how works at TSC. http://http://www.timperleyhockeyclub.com/news/club-membership-fees-now-due-1970259.html

The cut over date for no pay no play will be Saturday 7th October 2017 - so if you have not paid your subs by that date you will not be able to play, without prior agreement of the respective club captain. Thanks to everyone who has paid already.

For players who have either had historic unpaid subs, or paid very late, subs will have to be paid before 23rd September to be able to play on the first league weekend for most teams. If players have specific personal circumstances impacting them paying subs on time please contact club captains Cuey or Kieran to discuss. Where there is a genuine difficulty, or exceptional circumstance we will assist and be supportive where possible. Players should be aware that the hockey section (ie all of us) have to pay and fund the subs for all non payers playing.

Academy subs need to be paid to the Academy team - and they will be available on Sunday morning (10.45pm - 12.30pm) and Tuesday evening (5.30pm - 7.00pm) to enable all parents of Under 18's to complete registration (and ensure all details are up to date) and make payment for subs and academy fees.

Volunteer Day - Sunday 10th September 12 - 4pm

Join the cross section volunteer task force to help get a number of the pre-winter season jobs done around the club. This is an easy way to give up a couple of hours to help save the club money (and therefore help keep subs at some of the best value around) and get the club looking tip top for the new season. Lots of work is already underway by our small staff team but with the help of volunteers on Sunday we can get so much more done.

Weather permitting we aim to complete the painting of the kick boards around the blue pitch, sort the goals, nets and backboards refreshed and sorted, give our sponsors banners a wash and re-hang and get both pitches and the bin store and area outside the pitches looking good to host the first league games. From 3pm there'll be the chance to top up the drainage channels on the back cricket pitch, along with other jobs on the day. There are cricket finals on too so we need to work around visitors to the club and crack on !

If you can make it for an hour or two please sign up on the noticeboard at the weekend - all welcome

All things communication !

We're making some big strides now to get all players and parents to job Pitchero and benefit from the full functionality of the website platform and phone app's for communications, make payments, keeping you personal data safe and up to date in one place, managing availability, selection and payments plus being able to bring #GreatMatchDay to life with more match reports, photo's video and results !

Since 1st September we have had or load 112 additional members to the site - the men's 2 - 6's have been using the player availability options and this week all 5 sides have had there selection made and captured on Pitchero. The Women are planning their transfer to the system later in the month and the Badger and Beavers are also using it.

If you've not signed up yet and prefer using your phone try the simple SMS TEXT sign up option. Simply TEXT 29653 to 07400 200571

As with any new system there will be teething problems and it may take time to get it working 100% - but if we can get 85% of the way there by the end of September and work on the final bits - it will take out hours of volunteer time that is spend on admin chasing info, payments, and mean we will be able to keep members, parents and supporters in touch and up to date with all the club news.

We're really starting to build good traffic to the website now - either direct or via the Pitchero Apps - so that mean more people are getting connected to hockey at Timperley which is great. In the Pitchero do a ranking of the top 100 hockey clubs using the platform and we're currently number 3 just behind Reading HC and Milton Keynes HC based on site visits.
