Beast from the East tamed at Timperley its back to business this week with more One Club Spirit shining through this week for all age groups !

What a difference a week makes ! With the Beast from the East wiping out most hockey in the UK last weekend we weren't to be beaten at THC thanks to a fantastic turnout at short notice to our shout out for a snow patrol last Saturday morning !

Thanks to everyone who turned out and got stuck and club staff Col and Ashy who joined the really 8.30am shift ! Thanks to Cuey, Dave H, Ben Ent, Alex M, Dunc B, Tony O, Pay M, Savs, Smalley, Rach, Woody, Fiona, Shelagh, Tobin, Smithy, Mark A, the Ladies 1, and anyone I've forgotten in snow blindness ! A real team effort showcasing what it means to be part of a club like ours at its best.

We also had a first as the only two clubs able to host any National League hockey games last weekend we a little club don South - Surbiton and a big hearted club Up North - Timperley !

We also saw a great tweet from Beeston HC

Beeston Hockey Club - @OfficialBeeHC

A huge thank you must go the many volunteers and fantastic officials at @TimperleyHockey who showed great determination to get our ladies league game on today, clearing the remnants of snow off the pitch. #topclub #beatthebeast

The Ladies 1 must have inspired by the heroics as they gave the crowd (and thanks for the great turn out!) a really thrilling and coming of National League Age performance in a really closely fought game v table toppers Beeston. 0-0 at half time showed the benefits of team discipline and confidence on the ball. Final score 1-2 with Beeston only taking the points after a real fight. If we see the performance repeated today it should be 3 points in the bag v Flyde and National League Hockey guaranteed for next season. Come down for the 12.30 push back Saturday 10th March. A big thank you to our Match Day sponsor - Jon Tipler for his support today.

The Men's 1 didn't have such a good day at the office going down 2-4 to Chester and hopes of a late surge to the National League promotion spot in North Prem slipping away. What a difference a couple of seasons has made from being in the relegation zone to now knowing we're a top four contending side and with work over the summer and improving in each department the Men should come back strong and delivery the consistency needed for a promotion side. They head to Didsbury Northern today.

#ClubSpirit has also extended this week into out first #OneClubFourSports charity event as we support Prevent Breast Cancers Paint Altrincham Pink week of awareness and fun raising activities. Thansk to Caroline Small for making this happen and find out how to get involved and buy one of our pink t-shirts today. Wear something pink to training, and buy or donate cakes next weekend (17th /18th) - or help run the cake stall 12 - 4pm on Saturday
