The great British weather has thrown everything it has at us but its not stopped plenty of hockey occurring! Take a look at this weeks news !

Hockey in the rain.....

Rain may have stopped play at the Cricket World Cup but its certainly not stopped summer hockey ! Summer leaguers have been battling through some horrendous weather this past two weeks and is not dampened any of the support and enthusiasm for this great format of the game. Thanks again to all the players helping with the desk, organisation and setting up and putting away the goals and lets hope the sun will be back soon !
Last Saturday was one of the highlights of the season with 15 teams competing in the Ladies Vets 7's - this years 'Great British....theme' was well interpreted and some great team kits. Big thanks to organiser Jo Nicholson, Leonnie Molloy and Janet Wood on the cake stall for making it all happen, raise funds for the section and to all the players, umpires and supporters who battled through the rain !

We've a few photos to bring the day to life Women's Vet's 7's 2019 - Photos and will get some more loaded up this week. On the pitch the winners were Oldham and off the pitch fancy dress winners were Moss Park, as the NHS Midwives. Great effort from own Horse and Jockeys (The Great British Pub, Macclesfield Great British Roadworks (including two life size cones !), Sale's Red Arrows, Glossop and Lymm going with Great British Music themes with a team of Freddie Mercury's and the Spice Girls and the might of Alderley Edge's three teams arriving in full British Airways Cabin Crew style with full make-up, high heels and even carry on cases !

Next up tournament wise is the Men's 11 a side lowers event aimed at NWHL (Div 6-8) on Saturday 29th June - please contact Alex Morley or timperleyhc@gmail.com if you'd like to help or play for Timps or help recruit some more teams. The Mixed is the final tournament of the summer on Sunday 7th July - contact Kieran Jeffery to get invovled in that one.

Hockey in the sun......days...

We started the EH Summer Championships off in the sun at Beeston HC last Sunday with the Ladies Over 50's 7's and most of the Horse and Jockey's team from Saturdays vets just about dried out to come away from the day undefeated and after a 3-0 win verses Canterbury in the play off with the Bronze medals, Missing out on a place in the final on goal difference the girls did us proud and got Timperley on the map ! Thanks to captain Lou , coach Leonnie, chief supporters Cuey and Tracy (and Dawn) and our guest umpire for the day Alex.

The Over 30's start their defense of ther 2018 title this Sunday with a home game at 1pm v Formby and the Men's Over 30's head over the Pennines to the City of York for their first game. The Over 40's are due to get playing at some point ! Do come down and support the home teams if you can.

Other things occurring .......

Back to this weeks weather theme - this months 200 Club Draw on Saturday 15th June at around 6.30pm. As well as the monthly top prize of£100 - this months snowball is up to £150 but you need to have a number in the draw (buy one for £4 on the night is you're not signed up already) and be in the clubhouse . Cricket will hopefully be on at the club too is there's a break in the weather so what better reasons to pop to the club for a drink !

Next Thursday 20th June at 19:30 its the 141th TSC AGM - we're also launching Phase 1 of Project 18 and we hope the hockey section have a good turnout at the meeting http://www.timperleyhockeyclub.com/news/141st-tsc-agm-launch-of-project-18-phase-1-thursda-2435254.html. The meeting pack will be sent to voting hockey members on 14th June - if you don't receive an email or Pitchero message let Shelagh know. Added incentive to come along as there are a couple of drinks tokens for voting members to use on the night when they sign in from 19:00!

New TSC Membership Forms and Process - we'll be sending out some comms on the new process and forms over the next day or so. As part of the change over to the new legal structure, and to get all our club records up to date, everyone who wishes to be a member of TSC needs to fill out a new membership form. We'll be updating on what you need to do and also launching the Early Bird Payment Options for 2019-20 Subs. This is an option for those paying on line to spread the cost of their TSC Subs over four installments - but you'll need to sign up by 30th June 2019. So look out for details and there is still the option to pay in full on line or over the bar (after completing a new membership form).

Coming up in the next week or so .....we'll be announcing the pre-season coaching programme for all players, finalising general fitness sessions and GK coaching. We should get the National League Fixtures for the Men and Women over the weekend and North Fixtures giving us a full set and Kieran is busy plotting all the pitch requirements and options ! Subject to player numbers we should also be confirming starting a men's 7th Team !

Finally, a provisional 'save the date' for our first big social of the season on Saturday 28th September for a night with a difference being organised by Albert and the Men's 1's. We'll be announcing details shortly but save the date and book the babysitters, taxi's and clear the diary !
