Ways to Play at THC - year round hockey for all!


We pride our selves at THC in offering year round hockey opportunities for all ages and abilities. We've opportunities on and off the pitch / playing and non playing and regular social events and opportunities to meet and be part of our hockey family based at our large clubhouse with two on site pitches.

Our vision is:

To provide a positive hockey experience for all in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment to enable everyone to fulfil their hockey potential and lifelong love of the sport

Here's what we offer:

Junior Hockey

- Cubs (from Reception onwards) - fun Sunday morning sessions to introduce young players to our sport. small group coaching (September to May)

- weekly coaching for Under 8, 10, 12,14 and 16's Boys and Girls to progress and develop their core hockey individual and team skills (September to May)

- matches for U8 to U18's from small sides games and monthly mini tournament to the NW Junior leagues and England Hockey national competitions. (September to May)

- Full Saturday fixtures list for our development teams Otters, beavers and Badgers (Sept to March)

- Indoor hockey coaching and tournaments for our u16 - 18's (December to January)

- Junior holiday camps (School holidays open to non members too

- Summer Development programmes open to non members too (May to July)

- Young leaders development and mentorship programme including helping the coaching sessions, developing as a young umpire, ball patrol and helping to support and run tournaments

- coach, team manager, umpire and helper development for our volunteers (18+) to develop their skills and experience and personal growth to help 'match hockey happen'

Senior Hockey

- 14 senior teams taking part in national and NW leagues with a team for all ages and abilities from 13 to 85! We run 8 men's teams (including a development team and 6 womens teams

- weekly coaching for all senior teams, club training and performance squads

- social hockey including festive 7's, tournaments and Patty Cup v Bowdon and plans to return to touring !

- we run the largest friendly social Summer 7's League in the area for men's and women's teams for 9 weeks each summer with women's Summer League and Open / Men's Summer leagues both attracting 40 teams a week from across the NW

- summer tournaments open to all clubs for - grade 4 /5 men's / open teams, Women's 7's and Mixed 7's

- supported umpire development pathway with two club umpire developers and an assessor, radios and a friendly supportive 'whistlers' community to support the growth in umpire number and development

- coach development working with our lead coaches we support those wishing to develop as coaches and helpers

Masters

We've a large and active masters Hockey community at the club playing in Saturday league side and our 5 masters teams from O35s to O55's we offer

- five EH championships Masters Hockey teams

- Summer mixed social masters entering the NW500 summer league

- hosting masters women's 7's tournaments

Community

We're equally proud to host a wide range of opportunities to help grow and develop our sport concluding:

- hosting monthly Trafford Primary Schools In2Hockey tournaments

- hosting a growing informal local state secondary school after school monthly tournaments and providing facilities for local schools use

- hosting NW and Cheshire junior clubs finals and tournaments and tier 3/4 festivals

- hosting NW and Cheshire junior schools finals and tournaments and tier 3/4 festivals

- hosting national 8 area Masters tournaments (2 per season)

- host pitch to Salford University Hockey Club

- support NW Officiating with pitches for fitness tests and umpire and match official development

- Host NW Area Club Forums
