Miss the AGM? Catch up with the headline reports, our new 2022-23 Committee and future plans!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our 2021-22 AGM online on 6th June 2022. It was great to have such a good cross section of hockey members joining us to close off the 2021-22 season and importantly start to look forward to the 2022-23 season and future plans. The online format again proved popular with a good turnout to mark and recognise probably our most successful season on the pitch across all ages and genders from National Trophies, first's, promotions, no relegations and representative honours spanning all ages from our U13's to over75's !

Take a look back at the summary slide deck from the AGM (attached) and report headlines from our Club Captains - Jo Robinson and Col Taylor, Junior Co-ordinator (Anna Mawby) Umpiring Co-ordinator (Andrew Foster) and Treasurer (Malcolm Tucker). There was also an update on our new Development Plan setting out a range of plans and activities for 2022-2024.

The season's focus was on ensuring we continued to offer a range of hockey of hockey opportunities as we came through the Covid pandemic restrictions and adjusted to managing the challenges of availability as restrictions were lifted. We agreed not to increase match fees in 2021-22 to assist with the return to hockey but also faced a reduction in other sponsorship and fundraising income and increased costs included match teas, pitch contributions for midweek use, insurance. Having reported a loss for the season the new Committee have started the process to review costs and income for 2022-23 to enable us to recover after two challenging financial seasons and address the overall increase in costs.

The AGM marked the contributions of two committee members standing down after sterling service to the Club. Malcolm Tucker was thanked for his work as Treasurer as one of the originals involved from when we merged the Men's, Women's and Juniors activities in 2015 - 2016 season to become #OneClub. Malcolm took on the task of bringing the finances together, building trust and setting up shared systems and ways of managing our money and has done a tremendous job.

Col Taylor was also standing down as Men's Club Captain after a three year stint having picked up the reigns from Alex Morley when he sailed off the to North East! Colin was thanks for his work to steer the men through adding a 7th team, promotions, National League Hockey and all the challenges of getting people playing and teams out during and post Covid. Big thanks to Col for his contribution in his most recent role on the hockey committee.

Thanks were given to other Committee Members: Juddy (Secretary) Kieran and Haroon Vice Chairs; Jo Rob (Women's Club Captain); Anna M (Academy/Junior Co-ord) and Fozzy (Umpire Co-ordinator to steered us through a challenging post Covid season. Thanks were noted on behalf of all players to to all our captain, vice captains, managers, parents managers, coaches, whistlers and all our volunteers in a multitude of roles that #MakeHockeyHappen at Timperley during the 2021-22 Season.

We also welcomed new Committee Members - Timur Asar taking over as Men's Club Captain and Andrew Entwisle picking up the purse strings on the finances.

A brief update was given on our new Hockey Development Plan that included the development of a Vision for THC

To provide a positive hockey experience for all in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment to enable everyone to fulfil their hockey potential and life long love of the sport

The Hockey Development Plan headline summary is set out in the AGM Round Up attached and sets out the range of things we need to and want to do to keep moving forward and thriving as a hockey club - anchoring back to our key guiding principles:

- #OneClub
- #GreatHockeyClub
- #GreatMatchDay
- #HomeGrown
- and #GrowOurOwnVolunteers

A brief update was also given on plans for Timperley Sports Club with the replacement of the decking project being scoped and navigating through some planning challenges linked to the conditions of a grant from the ECB. Fundraising through the 2022 Auction will help bridge the funding gap to build the planned new raised patio seating area. The Blue Pitch Replacement remains the next investment and is potentially likely to be delivered in Summer 2023. All of course are dependant on income, fundraising and the Club's overall finances.

The future outlook, opportunities and potential to further improve what we do at Timperley remains really positive. With the work and support of our members, parents and supporters we are confident that the 2022-23 season will continue to build on the ethos and essence of #OneClub approach.
