Want to enjoy hockey at TSC? Please read UPDTAED (24th Sept) procedures to keep hockey, sport & the club safe

**** Updated procedures from 24th September in line with latest Govt restrictions - including wearing masks in the clubhouse****
https://www.timperley-sports.com/news/important-update-to-our-social-distancing-procedures-for-all-visitors-and-users-of-the-club-2572124.html

We've had a really good few weeks of positive club spirit and everyone stepping up to the new Step 4 EH Guidelines to get hockey back on as a 'Covid Safe' sport. Thanks to all our volunteers, coaches, captains, Covid Support Team and Covid Officer - Fozzy whose efforts have enabled so many of us to enjoy training and playing.

Now we go up another level - with the Government changes to the law for Social Distancing and the Rule of 6 that came into effect on 14th September. Timperley Sports Club has issued a new overarching set of Social Distancing Operating Procedures (attached) that everyone within the hockey section, partners, parents, visitors need to adhere to. This includes what will happen if you don't comply (for the good of hockey and the club) including potentially being asked to leave the club, and the suspending of sessions, bar opening etc. We don't want this to happen so lets all take personal responsibility and keep hockey happening and the club open.

TSC Social Distancing Procudures and member, players and visitor update

The headlines are:

- the on the pitch hockey activity we are running (training and matches) have been given an exemption from the change to the Law relating to 2m social distancing and the Rule of 6 (as well as the local restrictions for Trafford). EH have made clear as long as the #hockeyfamily continues to follow and operate in line with the Step 4 and Step 5 guidance at present we can continue to play - this is brilliant news for all involved in the game

- off the pitch activity - pre and post game and around the club must be managed in line with the new Government regulations and the law for Social Distancing and 'Rule of 6'. We've been working towards this over the last few weeks anyway and the main change is its now the law and fines for individuals and the club - and ultimately the suspending of sport / club activities.

So, lets all play our part and stay 2m apart (or 1m+ with a face covering) when outside of play - and follow the Rule of 6 (and no mixing) - we also implemented signing in spectators from last weekend and will be looking at how we improve this and tie in with the club sign Track and Trace arrangements and the soon to be launched Government Track and Trace App.

We are reviewing how we use the players zones and player meetings and will be updating how things will operate over the next few days. These are at best simple changes and if we can all make some small changes to our actions and behaviours we can all still keep enjoying the club and hockey. Let's keep up the great reputation we have gained with other clubs already for getting the hockey on in a covid safe way and press on and keep the club safe too.

Our Key Principles for Social Distancing

Our response to implementing the wide range of Government and National Governing Body (NGB) Covid 19 restrictions, rules and guidance at TSC is based on the following principles:

SAFE CLUB - creating and maintaining a safe environment for all (members, employees and visitors) at Timperley Sports Club on and off the field of play
SAFE SPORT – creating and maintaining safe playing and training environments for our four sports
TEAM EFFORT – working together to put in place the deliver a Safe Club and Safe Sport - members; volunteers; sections committees; employees and the Board – to delivery on
SELF RESPONSIBILITY – every member, and if under 18s parents and guardian, must take personal responsibility for their own social distancing and support the Club to comply with local and national requirements

Can you help keep the club and your sport 'Covid Safe' ?

Hockey need more volunteers to help us be 'covid safe' - one for each team and training session to help coaches and organisers manage off the pitch social distancing. Are you a spectator, parent, partner or non playing members who can help remind folks to stay 2m apart and follow the 'Rule of 6' ? If so contact your teams coach, manager or captain.

We also need overall Hockey Marshalls for each match day / training sessions who can help manage the 'off pitch' people side of social distancing in the car parks, around the pitches and support those looking after each team

There's also new TSC Covid Marshall roles - to support the overall coordination across all four sports and in the general club areas (outside the clubhouse / decking etc) the four Sports Sections have agreed to jointly fund with the Club paid 'TSC Covid Marshall Role' for match days and peak usage times at the Club. These roles will work with, and support our section volunteers and bar staff, and to help us to continue to deliver 'Safe Club - Safe Sport'

These roles will be paid and if you are interested in joining the team to provide cover at times on a rota basis please contact your Shelagh Everett or Colin Taylor at info@timperley-sports.com

We're in this together - so lets keep hockey happening at TSC and the club open by following the new regulations and changes in the law.
