Our THC 2020-21 AGM is a wrap ! Thanks for the support and here's our AGM round up !

Thanks to everyone who zoomed in for our 2020-21 Timperley Hockey Annual General Meeting ! We have a few bids from the 40 attendees for the prize for further and most unusual place to join us from with Richard Knill’s a garden by the Bridgewater Canal pipped by Jo Nicholson ‘live’ from a Beach Hut in Devon!

The Headlines – we made it !

2020-21 was about our People and our Hockey Family - Not about the league – the goals - the player of match !
Our aims for 2020-1 were simple:
• Make Hockey Happen – and lots of it and in whatever form
• Create a covid safe place to come and play and be involved
• Keep the spirit of club hockey alive and kicking
• Be ready to bounce back in 2021-22
We feel we did pretty well against each receiving positive feedback from members but also from the wider hockey community for both what we put on in terms of how and also how we did it.

The overarching team was recognising the spirit of hockey folks in 2020-21 on and off the pitch and recognising the amazing support of all our volunteers – captains, coaches, managers, committee, covid support team, marshals and everyone who helped us make the season happen in whatever way.

As bumpy a road as it was we got lots of hockey on when we could, played through to June plus Summer League and even can aware with two EH Championship trophies ! Financially it was always going to be a challenge but with rescheduled games, controlling costs, new coaching options and new fundraising ideas we made a small surplus of c £1400 – however, we have 2019 Hockey Dinner in the figures and when we hold the Dinner or refund money this will have an impact. Please contact Malcolm Tucker if you require a refund – if not you’re ticket will be carried over to our next Dinner. Members voted to Accept the Accounts for 2020-21.

Timperley Hockey Club Committee – 2021-22
We elected our new Hockey Committee for the 2021-22 Season and we’ve still a few vacancies – and even if you’d rather not do a Committee roles there are always lots of ways to get involved and support #MakingHockeyHappen at Timperley ! Anna Mawby is also recruiting for a number of roles to support running our Academy and we plan to set up a sub group / Academy Committee to support Anna this year.
