22nd / 23rd November Pitch Highlights

Big shout out to the Ladies 1's who made it 8 wins on the bounce last weekend with a 3-2 win away at Longridge and are top of NW Prem with a 3 point buffer from Sefton. Great work by the squad and new Women’s Head Coach, Chris Simcock, and keeping us focused on our aim to return Women’s Conference North.

Sadly it was a tough visit to Brooky for L2 and M2 who both lost but as Brooky M2’s are top of Premier it wasn’t an expected result based on their form. The M4's had a big win v Bowdon to stay top of Div 5 (E) and are now the only undefeated league team in the club. Also in Div 5 (E) M5's drew with 2nd placed Didsbury 1 -1 to help the M4's promotion campaign. Big boost for the L5's after a bumpy start to the season with a nice 5 - 0 win v Glossop.

M1 travelled to league leaders Repton with the only thing between the sides a converted stroke on 23 minutes. Whilst frustrating not to have got a point there are a lot of positives to take from our results v the top three - all narrow defeats by one goal. Deeside come in on the back of a home loss to Notts Uni and gaining key points before the two month mid season break couldn’t be more important to both sides as we start the second rally of league matches.

Our super cool U16G’s won another shoot out after a 3- 3 draw v Rotherham to take the bonus point and finish 2nd in EH T1 Supra League to Repton and into the big league for the 2nd stage – a first for THC

This weekend and December’s Hockey

We’ve a bumper home match day and do get your big coats out and come down to support the home teams as we’ve something for everyone. Ones to watch:

- Battle of the 2’s at 12noon – L2 v Alderley 2’s
- M2 v Chester at 14:00 and looking to end 2025 with 3 points
- L1 v Brooklands 16:00, everyone loves a Brooklands Derby and l1 looking to make it 9 wins on the bounce
- Don’t get bigger than this one for M1 v Deeside at 6pm and 3 vital points up for grabs lets get a big crowd in to show Deeside what ‘Saturday Night Under the Lights’ hockey is all about!

Come down for the M1 game and join us in the bar after the match for drinks and to enjoy the free live music from Mike Welton from 7.30pm. Big thanks to Mike who donated this ‘gig’ in the recent Auction and THC had the winning bid! Let us know what you think and any ideas for post match informal socials for 2026

Training will be continuing for a few more weeks too

- Sunday Morning last session Sunday 14th December back on 11th January
- Monday’s U14/16 last session 15th December and back on 5th January
- Tuesdays last session 9th December (and option for festive 7’s on 16th December) and back on 6th January

EH and comps continue with the Mixed XI v Chorley and Blackburn at home on 7th December and the U16/18 teams heading off to the NW Junior Indoor Tournaments.
