We’re delighted to announce that Ali Ghazanfar (Ali G) is joining Timperley team to lead our Women's Performance and Development Programme to support the delivery of our THC vision to “provide a positive hockey experience for all in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment to enable everyone to fulfil their hockey potential and lifelong love of the sport”.
Ali brings a huge amount of experience and expertise drawn from a range of coaching roles at all levels in the men's and women's game, as an High-Performance Coach (Level 4) and Coaching Educator h with the FIH and from his International playing career and captaincy of Pakistan. He joins Rob Turner who continues as Head Coach for our Men's Performance and Development and Timperley Talent Academy.
The new role includes: head Coach for the Women’s 1 and 2's (working closely with the W2’s Coach); Women's Club Coaching, integrating our junior girls programme (U14/16/18) into the senior structure and Coach Development.
Ali will also be running a number of Performance Camps at THC and the first one will be on Tuesday 30th May 2023 for Timperley players aged 12+ from 10:00 to 14:00 (bookings open Wednesday 24th May 2023).
Ali will be working closely with Jo ‘Woody’ Nicholson who will be continuing as 1’s Manager and Mat Gotts, Women’s 2s coach as we prepare for the ne National League season in Conference North and our first season for the 2's in North West Premier Division.
