With the curtain coming down on the NW adult league season last weekend its time to get the suncream, beanie hats and all things summer hockey dusted off ! Our fun, friendly and popular 7 a side Summer Leagues are back for men and women's teams !

The format will be similar to previous years with a few improvements - we're starting a little earlier this year as our Blue Pitch is being resurfaced and improved in July so we need to bump forward a week!

Format details

Format: 7-a-side men's and women's leagues. Subject to numbers teams will be split into two divisions per league. There will be nine rounds (weeks of hockey) for each team including finals nights.

Starting (week 1): Friday 3rd May for the men and Tuesday 7th May for the women for 8 weeks followed by finals nights.
For the women final night will be split with one night per division on 2nd and 9th July (linked to the work on the blue pitch).
For the men we should run for 9 straight weeks and end on 28th June (we may need to bump into July but are hopeful to complete by 28th June.)

Timings: 19:00 to 22:00 on two pitches (4 7 a side pitches) at Timperley Sports Club, WA15 7LU. Enjoy our new terrace when not playing and the bar will be open on all evenings!

Game timings: 15-20 minutes, depending on entrants. We're also looking at blocking the fixtures into early, middle, late and rotating weekly based on feedback from last season to

Number of Games per team per week: will depend on the finer details and team numbers, however normally c4 games a week

Cost: £40 per team per week. Two options
- pay £40 in advance by bank transfer when booking and £40 per team per week for a further 8 weeks (ideally paid by card at tournament table or cash)
- pay by single payment upfront and only pay for 8 weeks, rather than 9 (£320 instead for £360) payable by bank transfer and an invoice can be provided where required by club treasurers

Club Entries: teams must be entered linked to a club (and therefore covered by their clubs insurance)

Umpires: each team is responsible for providing an umpire. Let's continue to uphold the spirit of the game and summer hockey and continue to show respect to all involved, playing, umpiring and supporting

Maximum two teams per club can be entered - requests for additional teams will be considered if space if available
