Timperley Talent Academy, part of the England Hockey Talent Pathway, is seeking expressions of interest from performance coaches to join our team.
Timperley Hockey Club is proud to be a host club delivering a key element of the England Hockey Talent Pathway and strategy as an accredited Talent Academy. As we enter year three of the TA cycle we are seeking expressions of interest from performance coaches with a passion and commitment to develop young players aged 14 to 18. Rob Turner, FIH level 4 coach, takes on a wider role as Timperley Talent Academy (TTA) Director of Hockey and will lead the coaching team along with the boys and girls programme.
The 2024-25 Talent Academy Programme will run from September 2024 to July 2025 culminating with the national TA competition.
TTA training sessions are held on regular Monday evenings moving to weekend sessions post club season. Further details on request.
Timperley Talent Academy Performance Coaching Opportunities
The TTA coaching team will work under the direction of Rob Turner to deliver the 2024-25 programme and key phases of the TA cycle. The team may work across both groups and align to the boys and girls' groups later in the cycle as we move from development to competition phases. We are looking for inspiring and collaborative coaches who wish to commit to developing young players, and themselves, within the EH Talent Framework.
All coaches should hold a (minimum) EH Sessional Coach or equivalent qualification, have the requisite experience and show a commitment to ongoing personal development and CPD. All coaches must have a DBS, completed first aid and safeguarding training and be able to demonstrate experience within a hockey performance environment including player development, on and off pitch including development plans, feedback, use of video analysis and developing a encouraging and stretching performance culture to support players reaching their full potential.
The Talent Academy cycle runs from September to late July each year, with the aim to:
• Provide an exceptional talent development environment supporting the development of a the next generation of players at international level and pathway to England Age Group squads
• Provide a year round high-quality ‘on and off pitch’ contact time for the highest potential boys and girls aged 14-18
• Provide appropriate best vs best competition to further support player development within a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment.
• Provide holistic education for young players in line with the complete player qualities that effectively prepares them for performance environments.

To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate their experience against our essential qualities:
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES
• Self-motivated and inspiring coach who can deliver exceptional development experiences in a talent development environment to our high potential young hockey players.
• Evidence of coaching in an intensive and competitive training environment to develop highly skilled and creative players.
• Strong communicator: able to accurately engage with a range of audiences (coaches, players, parents, centre manager) to disseminate information using a variety of methods.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement, observe confidentiality and use discretion and initiative.
• Evidence of a commitment to continuous personal development and an understanding of how to apply the Complete Player Qualities within their coaching philosophy.
• Understanding the needs and safeguarding requirements of junior athletes in a talent environment
PACKAGE: All roles will be recruited on a self employed basis and a competitive package offered based on the role and experience. Hours vary depending on the role.
