England Hockey has started a new initiative this season to get club's nominating players for an EH Team of the Week - selected players range from internationals to club players who make hockey what is it as a sport. This week Two Timperley Nominees were selected for the team of the week and both did some pretty amazing things last weekend .
Here's how EH summarised why Jon and Michelle were selected:
Goalkeeper
Name: Jonathan Tipler
Club: Timperley HC
Nomination: Despite being 60-years-old, Jonathan can often be found between the sticks for Timperley 6s and this weekend was crucial to a 4-0 victory, keeping his first clean sheet this millennium in the process!
Midfield
Name: Michelle Mortimer-Collier
Club: Timperley HC
Nomination: Not only did Michelle play two games this weekend - scoring her first goal of the season on Saturday – she also coached the juniors on Sunday before helping out a man who had collapsed while walking his dog by getting a paramedic to the scene and then driving him home. A true club inspiration.
We also nominated Andy 'Wez' Wareham for the team after his first game back in the Men's 1's after a horrendous (non hockey!) injury in thesummer when he broke his arm. Wez grabbed a goal in his return to the M1's but Jon and Michelle's efforts certainly take some beating !
Jon has confessed to being a bit older that 60 as as part of the three masters on the Mens 6's with Jez Caldwell and John Donnelly they top 200 years of age between them ! So for any keepers out there who are striving for a clean sheet - take a leaf out of John's book, keep positive, keep playing, keep enjoying part of or #hockeyfamily and keep the faith - even if it does take 17 years and 11 months !
Michelle had an amazing weekend with her first goal for the Ladies 1's v Liverpool Sefton in an crucial game before the mid season break, add in her quick thinking and act of great kindness to the gentleman who collapsed at the club and she rounded off the weekend as part of the Mighty Mixed XI who beat Macclesfield to go into the next round of the EH Cup.

So its a great but of profile for THC and part of helping us get our name on the map - but also a fantastic sport light on the two of our members showing what hockey's all about at our club - we're very proud of you both.
Jon and Michelle join Kelly Burdett who was named in the EH Team of the Week as few weeks ago for an epic performance for the ladies 1's.
