Find out what will happen now we have the EH Guidance - but sadly for NOW the Club and Pitches remains CLOSED.

As promised we wanted to update members as soon as possible following the release of updated EH Guidance for Returning to Hockey and let you know what this means for us all at Timperley.

Firstly, THC and TSC, echo EH's statement that ...Whilst these are the first steps for returning to play, we would encourage everyone to firstly consider the health of themselves and others.

Secondly, the pitches and Club remain CLOSED at the present time. Please bear with us whilst we review the EH Guidance and work with our fellow TSC sections and the Board to review how we might offer members so limited access to pitches.

Now we have the EH Guidance it is the responsibility of Clubs to review and work out the feasibility, practicalities and complete he risk assessments and confirm insurance cover. The TSC Ltd Board has already set a process up to do this and Hockey will be submitting a proposal to the Board for review and approval, if we think it is feasible to offer limited pitch access. This needs to factor in other potential site users on a limited basis from other sections. Whilst it may be possible to offer some controlled, pre booked access to the pitches for limited periods, please be aware their is no plan to re-open the overall Club site. This all needs to be done with care and consideration for the health of everyone.

Albert and Mark are looking at ideas for drills that will meet the EH Guidance and Government Guidance on Social Distancing that players could use. The Hockey Committee will now start the process to develop the operating rules and risk assessments to submit to the Board to review, hopefully next week.

What would be great is to hear your views and ideas about how this could work, or what we could offer, plus anything you see happening at other Clubs that might be useful to look at. Please post ideas on THC facebook, contact any of the Hockey Committee (Shelagh, Col, Jo, Malcolm, Nisha, Jackie, Juddy and Kieran) or email timperleyhc@gamil.com

Don't we have 10 Bite Sized #HockeyatHome Skills videos on our Timperley Hockey Club YouTube Channel to keep anyone who is desperate to get their hands on a stick busy ! Whilst these were aimed at the Academy Players they are a good test and challenge for many of our seniors too !

For those interested the recently issued FIH Guidance and Resources shows the type of measures to be included - we obviously need to apply in line with the Guidance for England

Following the recent release of ECB Guidance for Cricket, the TSC Board has reviewed a proposal from TCC and agreed a process, booking procedures and risk assessment to allow one cricket net to be open from next week in line with ECB Guidance. If We will be able to learn from Cricket's experience of offering very limited access to the Nets and build in to what may work for hockey. We also need to work with Lacrosse and Football as the Pitches are shared facilities and look to agreeing time slots. So a fair bit to do over the coming days and we will update you once a decision has been made.

#StaySafe and we will update as soon as we have done more work on how any access to pitches may work.
