The positive news is that Hockey can continue - BUT with restrictions linked to Level 3(Very High) Covid Risk areas (clubs and players)

England Hockey did a call with North West Clubs this morning to update on the fast moving situation (which was welcomed) - and has now issued the following communication EH Updated Return to Play Guidance (16.10.20)

The positive news is hockey (matches and training) can in the main continue - BUT there are restrictions linked to travel to and from Level 3 (High Risk) areas (currently Liverpool City Region and Lancashire from midnight tonight) for both Clubs playing Fixtures and Players who live in Level 3 (High Risk areas)

There will be an impact on some of our fixtures this weekend - we can not 100% confirm this at the moment it will depend if there is a change in the classification for Greater Manchester from Level 2 (High) to Level 3 (Very High) and when this happens.

Captains / Coaches will keep players potentially impacted updated: currently Mens 2; Mens 3; Ladies 1 and Ladies 2. We will update later this evening - and if Greater Manchester moves to Level 3 this will in turn impact fixtures against teams outside of Greater Manchester.

Academy training will continue as normal on Sunday as will all Club training on Tuesday and Thursday - the only exception will be linked to players living in a Level 3 area (if GM still in level 2).

DO READ THE HELPFUL INFOGRAPHIC

We will update once more information known about Greater Manchester and the movement between local Level 3 areas. Stay close to your captain / coach / manager for updates on specific games.

Here's a quick link to this weekends Timperley Fixtures excluding the Ladies 1 (V Fylde away ) and Mens 1 (v Barford Tigers away on Sunday).

Crucially, at all three of the new alert levels, outdoor hockey activity is allowed to continue (with some restrictions linked to Level 3) and outdoor organised team sport continues to be seen as a low-risk activity for the transmission of Covid-19. EH has said "The weight of evidence across sports - allied to the excellent work clubs have done establishing safer environments - demonstrates the confidence government has. ...... We cannot link any cases to transmission on the field of play, and where transport has been shared and safer travel guidance followed there is also a low level of risk of transmission. The only examples of transmission or where larger groups of players have been required to self-isolate is where social distancing rules have not been maintained outside of play". ALL TAKE NOTE OF THIS LAST POINT - we need to maintain social distancing and Rule of 6 off the pitch at all times.

Stand by for more THC Fixture updates for this weekend.......
