Plenty of news on and off the pitch again this week in this more extraordinary of season ! First off here's our EH Championships update - alas a game to far for some teams and we've gone from five teams chasing a finals place to two - but its been a great run and fantastic to get some proper competitive matches played.

This weeks results:

EH Plate - Men's 1 beat West Derby 6 -3 in an interesting away match and earn a home Semi Final v West Bridgford of Atherstone Adders next Sunday 4th July - so lets get a good crowd don to support *****12.30pm push back

EH Master Cup
- Over 35's had a rematch of the 2019-20 EH Final v Bedford at home in an intense fast paced game when we had the majority of possession we couldn't find the net even after a wonder strike from Leonnie their Cup run ended losing 1-2
- Over 50's Men had another road trip to City of York and old nemesis of a fixture again had plenty of play in a hard fought game but couldn't find the net losing 1-0.

EH Master Plate Final - Timperley O45's v Bedford O45s on 10th July and the 45's will be trying their hardest to win the bragging rights from Bedford and hopefully will be joined by the Men's 1's at finals day in Nottingham.

.... Ladies Vets 7's ...another triumph!
19 teams rocked up on Saturday and turned the club into a sea of colour with every variation of fancy dress using the lockdown / covid theme ! This tournament is well regarded across the North and Scarborough's attendance gives you a good feel for the reputation of the tournament. Huge thanks to Jo Nicholson and Leonnie Molloy who put in so much time to make sure all the Covid rules were in place, followed, cars were parked and the site 'marshalled' and ensuring everyone had a fantastic day. In excess of £1,000 was raised for the hockey section which will make a major contribution to our fundraising for 2021-22.

Tensworth Success !
Well done to all our Timperley lads - Charlie, Rory, Timmy, Joseph and Josh - who have been in Nottingham this weekend playing for the Tensworth invitational North West U13's team's playing against teams from across the UK. This Regional tournament is an excellent opportunity for our younger players to experience a weekend tournament and develop their hockey, won by the Tensworth A team.

Special shout out and congratulations to Josh Higgin selection for the invitational UK Lions U13 team following in the footsteps of previous Timperley players and we know this will be a great opportunity to develop his hockey even further and experience training and playing with players from across the UK . Good luck Josh and enjoy!

...business end of Summer League !
Summer League continues to be ever popular on Mondays and Tuesdays with 36 teams playing 7's at the club each week as we edge towards finals night. So many Timperley players enjoy Summer league but its only possible thanks to those that help with all the jobs to make it happen. So if you enjoy summer league but haven't so far..... put goals out or away, cleared the pitch, moved the pipes, done the tables (and hooter!), umpired r put things away (neatly!) in the lock up ...Now's the time to step up and take your turn. Please be kind and helpful as club members and don't leave to the usual suspects !

End of Season Covid Safe 'gathering' !
All change on this one - we've moved the date to Saturday 10th July to give us more flexibility on what and when we do things. We need to follow the covid regulations so this will be an informal evening, with informal food - but not dinner or formal meal but we will be presenting some of the club awards and basically getting everyone together to draw a line under this most extraordinary of season. The challenge is we need your creatively, ideas and help to work out what we do. All area welcome, the pitches should be free if people fancy games too in the afternoon. See more details - please save the date !https://www.timperleyhockeyclub.com/news/save-the-date-for-the-alternative-end-of-season--10th-july-2021-2626376.html

Kit Update
We've been reviewing our kit partner requirements over the past few months and will announcing a new partnership for the new season in July ready to get pre season order in!
We're finalising a new agreement and designs and have given our Timperley playing kit a refresh ...in a way that it will sit well alongside our current kit and so old and new playing shirts will still have that distinctive Timperley look!

Our non playing range is also having a refresh but don't worry items like our popular Timperley hoodie will still be available. The old and refreshed ranges will work well together.

SilverFX has ceased trading and we've worked closely with them on the transition to the new partnership. We do have some stock items that we'll be sharing details of soon to pick up some bargains.

If you've outstanding queries relating to any SilverFX orders please contact Shelagh via timperleyhc@gmail.com or Sarah Williams so that we can resolve all outstanding queries or orders that have not yet been delivered. Apologies for any delays and problems and we're committed to getting everything sorted for everyone impacted.

They'll be a new online shop, home delivery and personalisation and prices will pretty much the same which was one of our criteria to ensure value for money. The plan is to launch in July. So watch this space for the launch and reveal of the refreshed range an link to the new shop!

....and finally this week sadly we marked the passing of one of our Hockey Vice Presidents Neil Entwisle, a member for over 65 years and a stalwart of the hockey sections. Click Here to find out - or remember - Neil's contribution to Hockey at Timperley. Condolences from all our hockey family to Neil's family and friends.

Many also attended the club on Sunday travelling from far and wide at Pat Marston's brother shared a few words and scattered half of Pat's ashes at his second home the Club. On Monday the #Walking4Patty lads led by Matt Horan start their walk to Anglesey to raise funds for the BHF and scatter the rest of Pat's ashes in his other favourite place. The team are nearly at their £5k target having raised £4,235 - still time to donate and follow their progress on social media. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/walking4patty
