Catch up with all the THC News as we celebrate our first league title of the season, Super EH Cup Sunday and all end of seasons plans!

Congratulations to the Men's 7's
We've our first league title of the season in the bag and its been picked up by our super Men's 7's side in their first season following a similar approach of blending youth and experience used in the L6's (and previously L5s). We salute our NW men's Division 7 East Champions ! Huge credit to all involved and do have a read of Neil Hornby's summary of the season below and the team effort behind this success. Well done to all involved. Do try to get along to see the M7's play before the end of the season if you can.

Business end of the senior league season
As we enter the final weeks of the league we're still in contention in a number of leagues for potential promotion. M3's continue to be neck and neck with Bowdon at the top of Div 3 South. Men's 4's are also still chasing from 3rd place in and are in a 6 pointer with Bowdon today. Men's 1's will be waiting and no doubt watching if Brooklands 2's can cause an upset in Conference North and bear Lindum get us back in the promotion mix, ahead of their trip to Wakefield tomorrow. Ladies 1 have a trip to Fylde and now must rely on other teams results as well as two wins from two to remain in Conference. The girls continue to play some good hockey but can't get those illusive goals needed to turn this into points. Ladies 2's have a big home game today at 4pm v Deeside and all support welcome to help them bag some key points in the final run.

Good luck to all teams playing this weekend and don't forget to follow all the results, league tables and now match sheets for all NW teams and scrores at https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/clubs/timperley-hc/fixtures

Super Sunday for our Junior teams - five semi finals and the Cheshire Mini's!
What a season its been for our junior sides and this Sunday we are competing in no less than five EH Championships Knock Out and Plate Semi Finals! Our U14, 16 and 18's have helped continue to put Timperley on the hockey map ! This like the Men's 7's due to the long term work in developing our junior programmes and all the on and off pitch support we have from players, coaches, managers, parents, umpires, logistics etc.

Men's 7's Journey 2023-24 (Neil Hornby)

It’s difficult to know where to start…. There was a plan….. It required teamwork…. It needed to work…… and it has! From the outset, James coordinated and organised, I pulled the strings from on and off the pitch and was often very loud, Duncan orchestrated from the center of defence. We had support from a number of experienced players who gave up their time to help this team flourish – Andy Ent, Dave Riley, Juddy, Calvin, John Donnolly, Alun Williams and a few special guests all played their parts along the way.
My thanks also go to the parents who have supported us this season, and also to our Timperley umpires who have allowed us to play each week – amazing teamwork all round!

In the league, most of our opposition have been predominantly adult teams with one or two juniors. In contrast we have had a total of seventeen under 18’s play in the team this year with an average age just under 15, and most of the time there has only been two or three adults on the pitch with them. They have listened, implemented, grown in confidence and become a team, playing for each other and for the most part doing it in style. Ultimately the boys have been superb, had some consistency, and we stuck to that plan. Over the last few weeks the compliments have flowed in, with the overriding message of “These boys you’ve got can play some hockey, and how gracious they are with it – a credit to the club!” 2 games to go, scored 53, only conceded 12, goal difference 16 ahead of 2nd place, undefeated so far! CHAMPIONS!

Finally, its the 300 Club Easter Draw at 18:30 on Saturday 16th march in the clubhouse and as well as all the usual cash prizes there's a special giant bunny up for grabs for one the the on the night prize winners (you have to be in the draw and at the club when the draw if made to get your hands on this giant Peter Rabbit - take a look at the details and how to enter !https://www.timperleyhockeyclub.com/news/300-easter-club-draw--saturday-16th-march-2024-at-1830-in-the-clubhouse--2839267.html
