Catch up with this weeks THC news - BHF fund-raising success, summer and pre-season hockey updates and more....

Another busy couple of weeks as we edge towards pre-season! Here's this week's news from THC......

Yorkshire Three Peaks Triumph for 15 lads and hockey dog
Huge respect and congratulations to our THC band of brother (and Dougal) who covered 24 miles and over 5000 vertical feet in 9 1/2 hours and have raised over £4000 + Gift Aid for the British Heart Foundation. This was also an event to remember Kwasi and what he meant to so many of us at the club lucky enough to have spent time with him - especially fitting as we approach the anniversary of his passing this weekend.
Thank you to the 145+ friends and family who have donated to this great cause and thanks to our walkers: Dave H, Matty H, Connor, Will T, Foo, Benty, Jenty, Nicho, Stu Nich, Dan C, Bates, and former captain James K, Flo, Disco, Wez and Hockey Dog

EH Summer Championships Over 30's Final !
Congratulations to the Men's Over 30's who after another high scoring match v Urmston as into the final v Havering on Sunday 28th July (1pm push back). So if anyone is in the area or fancies a trip to Oxford Hawks HC do get down to support the lads.

The Ladies O30's won the silverware last year so lets see if the Men can match this feat !
Sadly for the women's O30's they ran out of road this years against a blast from the past playing Old Poyntonians reformed for the competition going down 5-2.

More tournament session and summer league comes to a close !
Big thanks to Alex Morley who organised another great Men's Lower League Tournament last Saturday with 12 teams and Kieran Jeffery who organised the Mixed 7's with 10 teams on Sunday. The lads turned the weather on and a couple of good days hockey was had by all involved. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day, umpired and played. Thanks to Kieran and Alex who have helped raised over £1500 across the weekend to support funding the cost of running hockey at THC next season.

The Ladies Summer League concluded this week with Bowdon winning Division 1 and Crewe Winning Division 2 - with 18 teams and 150+ players a week over 280 games over 9 weeks the league is a major feat of logistics and a big thanks to Jackie Lord the overall organisers, all the THC helpers and Cath Thompson for doing the weekly order of play and league tables. The Men's Summer League concludes this Wednesday so pop down if you can - and thanks to Dave Halkyard and his helpers who will have completed 10 weeks of hockey for 12 teams.

This is part of our aim to get THC on the Hockey Map and raise awareness of the club and what we do.
