Pre-Season Training

Yes its only just over 8 weeks until league hockey is back with us ! With temperatures rising it must be time for senior pre-season and we hope to see as many players along as possible over the next few weeks !

The Performance Squads have been putting in the hard kilometers over the last 6 weeks working on their get their fitness and we're delighted to welcome many new players to Timperley. They start their stick and ball sessions tomorrow (Saturday) morning and for the rest of us club pre-season starts on Tuesday 30th July 7.30pm - 9.30pm with five two hour sessions planned. So come down dust off the cobwebs and learn some new tricks before league hockey starts on 21st September. We'll also be welcoming our new club coach Paul Lewis.

Men's Over 30's National Final and the Masters and a European Cup !

Good luck to the lads heading off to Oxford Hawks HC from Sunday's final v Havering 1pm push back - its just over a couple of hours by car if anyone fancies supporting the lads and hopefully bringing home another bit of silverware to the club.

Good luck too to Kiery Horne whose playing for a gold medal in the International Masters Hockey European Cup in Rotterdam tomorrow in the final days play. Kiery was selected for England Over 35's, along with Timperley Old Girl Lucy Field and they go into the final game undefeated. Other familiar faces our in Holland include Rob Turner between the sticks for the Over 40's and Brad King for the Over 45's. Great achievement and experience for all players involved. Lou Hitchinson will be heading to Germany in August for the Over 50's Masters European Cup and keeping Timperley on the masters map and Beth Crowther will be playing for England Mixed too over the summer.

Lighting up the club

We're delighted to announce that the first phase of Project 18 (the future development of Timperley Sports Club) has been completed this week) has been completed this week. Halliday Lighting have been on site and installed new Floodlights - final testing needs to be completed but this investment in the club will shine a whole new light on hockey next season ! They mean we can now play our National League matches under lights and bring a whole new experience to match days at the Club and we will be kicking off the National League season with both the Men and Women's 1st XI's playing at home v. Alderley Edge on Saturday 28th September 2019 when we will be officially opening the lights and holding our first social of the season ' a race night with a difference'. So save the date and join us for our first ever Men's National League game.

We've already started the hockey sections fund-raising towards our share of the cost - with £1400 from the dinner dance. We'll be launching a number of fund-raising schemes so that everyone can get involved from the smallest contribution to donating to 'sponsor' a bulb (x24) or tower (x8). The blue pitch floodlights are the start of an exciting period over the next few years when we will be replacing both pitches, and the lights on the green pitch, improving the parking and access and clubhouse. So watch this space, get involved and do share any ideas add to the fund-raising to fund the lights.
