Gales, goals and horse boxes !

On the road this week for a long slow journey to Whitchurch, Shropshire. Don't believe the AA route planner as it doesn't factor into journey time the 40mph part of the journey stuck behind the Cheshire set horse boxes and tractors ! First challenge accomplished getting the squad and parents there !

The first ten minutes was a little sluggish as the team settled the play, set the shape and gained control and some good solid keeping from Phoebe. Three well fort goals before half time put Timperley calmly in control of the game. The first goal was a trade mark Mimi sniffer goal never giving up and somehow getting the ball over the line to the amazement of the opposition ! Suzy determined to show how to hit a barn door wasn't going to leave the 'D' til she'd buried the goal in the back of the net for number two ! The Third goal was a gem and huge credit to Natalie for picking up a pass just over the halfway line, making a great run into the 23 , a well timed pass, for Erin to appear far post for a trademark goal from left wing to make it 3-0.

Half time and the rain arrived with a soggy frozen team huddling in the dugout. Continuing to move the ball well more goals just didn't come as the cold set in. With a bit of a loss of composure and shape not helped by the defenders having freezing hands the game didn't get going. Whitchurch continued to hit down the middle and scored two quick goals.

No one was phased and the team found another gear to step up the play, ball movement improved and quickly we got a forth goal from Erin followed by another from Mimi to seal another victory and three points.

Job done ! Quick picnic tea back at Whitchurch rugby club and a return journey with only one horse box and tractor to hold us up ! Second in the league and three games to play.
