The first half was very even with both teams having a lot of possession and a lot of exciting hockey to watch. Timperley took an early lead through a Lucy McBride goal before finishing the half 1-1. Following Beth’s team talk at half time, Timperley had more periods of very strong play in the second half, however were unable to convert any of the opportunities and ended the game losing 4-1 (with Brooklands capitalising on a number of set pieces).

Despite a few last minute injuries to a couple of our key players the Timperley team battled hard and never gave up until the final whistle. This enthusiasm combined with the additional planned training sessions will stand the girls in good stead for the next matches against Carlisle on 4th November and Fylde on 18th November.

Please note that the Manchester Half Marathon will result in a number of roads being closed near Brooklands. There will be additional training for the selected team on Tuesday 9th Oct from 7-8pm. If you can’t make the training at 7pm there will be normal Badgers’ training at 5.45pm / please only go to one session.

Teas will be provided by Brooklands after the match.
