The Girls’ U14 England Hockey campaign continued this year with a home match against Carlisle on 4th November 2018.
The match was very even with both teams having a lot of possession and a lot of exciting hockey to watch. Carlisle scored just before half-time took. Even although the team finished the first half 0-1 Timperley put their training into practice and got an equaliser in the second half courtesy of Lucy McBride. The match was a nail biter right until the end as neither team wanted to concede.
Despite a missing a number of our year 9 players (through injury, unavailability or playing U16s) the younger players stepped up and the whole Timperley team battled hard and never gave up until the final whistle. Roll on the 3rd round of the competition against Fylde on 18th November.
Goals for Timperley: Lucy McBride
Player of the Match (as voted by the opposition): Anna Judd
