A great comeback!

Timperley Badgers had a rude awakening in the first half yesterday and the final scores belies what turned out to be a difficult game and one for long periods they did not look like winning.

3-0 down after 25 mins the team lacked shape, the ability to pass and energy being wasted in fruitless pursuit of the opposition. Macclesfield attacked with real purpose down their right side and it was from this area of the pitch that they developed and scored all of their first half goals.
Oli Burton pulled one back on the stroke of half time which somewhat flattered Timperley at that point in the game.

After some honest talking from the players at half time and being encouraged to channel their disappointment and frustration into positive energy they played with far more purpose and energy in the second half. Mid way through that half they still found themselves 2-4 behind and it was only down to their collective will that they eventually pulled level and then saw out the game.

Ben Harrison worked tirelessly and to some degree single handedly brought Timperley back into the game with two well take goals before Thespian entertainment had to take priority and he left the game after 15 minutes of the second half. Good work at short corners brought further goals and the game was rounded off nicely with a simple move where Phoebe Pardoe, driving forward from centre back found Charlotte Lord in the D who squared for Charlie Lingard to sweep home.

Oliver Evans in goal had a fine game pulling off a string of excellent saves which well into the second half could have seen the game lost.

Scorers: Oli B x 4, Charlie x 2, Ben x 2
