Another great win!

Another great win and impressive team and debut performances for the Beavers!

Half term pressures on team availability aside, this was a disciplined and entertaining game to watch against a skilful, if inexperienced, Alderley side. Timperley worked the ball well from central and wide positions, helped by keeping a good positional shape and passing with quick ball speed. Something the team have been working on since the middle of last season. It paid off brilliantly with 6 goals coming for 6 different players, with many more opportunities to boot which kept their goal keeper and defence busy all game!

The game was played in three 20 minute sections, with a slight change in personnel at the mid way point as Rory & Roisin were whisked away to a prior engagement!

Special mention needs to go to a Hatton family double debut! Josie played with energy and commitment in right midfield, threading some excellent passes through to Kamol and tackling with conviction. Oli, a last minute addition to the side when the Driscoll’s left, played with great confidence at left back, also tackling with vigour against much bigger players and linking well with Harvey in left midfield.

Callum, supported by Oli Burton, controlled the midfield well and it was pleasing to see these players taking responsibility for organising the other players around them to provide better opportunities for passing either side of the pitch, enabling Tate and Kamol to show their increasingly impressive stick skills in attack.

In the final 20 minutes, we agreed that Alderley could field one of their Beavers to help their distribution and to provide a greater challenge for our defence. They stood up to this excellently, absorbing the increased pressure and with some fine tackling and also showing great confidence in passing the ball around the back to create space on the opposite wing on a number of occasions.

The next three games against Bowdon B, Brooklands B and Chester B will be our last chance to get our game in fine working order before the more stern challenges of the ‘A’ sides in December and January.
